My Son has been in MV from the very start. When we noticed that he was not speaking when He should be, we contacted the district who then got us set up with Early intervention. The teachers were VERY good to work with. I Am very happy with the new principle. If i have a question, I can e-mail him and he WILL write back before the end of the school day. Even with the budget cut the teachers have tried to keep it from impacting the kids. We moved from NJ to NY because of the schools here in MV.... My step kids go to school out west and to be honest, my sons going to a PUBLIC school are getting a better education then the ones who are in a school with only 150 kids. I only wish MORE parents were involved in their children's education at MV

I don't think Minisink is a very good school to enroll your child in. I am a student who attends Minisink and its not a very hands on school. Minisink doesn't have that many after school activities. I don't recomend this school.

I am not pleased with this school at all. The bus comes to my house at 6:45 AM. Other middle schools pick up their students at 7:30 AM. Its hard on us kids to get up so early. And the teachers are OK most are kind others have tough days. But over all Minisink Valley is not a good school to put your children in.Thank you and have a good day!

Minisink Valley Middle School is one of the best schools that you can enroll your child in. I went here as a child, left the area, and came back to let my children enjoy what I did when I was there age. This school focuses on keeping the children busy so that they are not out there getting into trouble like other areas. There is something for everyone in this school. A very wide range of interests and they cover it all. We just hired a new principal this year due to our other getting a promotion within the district so I can't rate the leadership of the principal.

We've lived in the Minisink School district for two year. In general I am pleased w/ the academic program they offer, but I feel that the staff needs to take more of a hands on role w/ the students. And that the district does not promote diversity as an enhancement to eduction. I've been informed by staff that the district 'is not ready' for students from other backgrouds. For this reason I feel that it is the resposibility of the school district to encourage acceptance of all cultures. Would I recommend the Minisink School district? This honestly depends on the character of your child and their ability to tolerate being treated as an outsider. Growing up in NYC I've never had deal w/ such an environment but it is clear that a child that did not grow up in this environment may have to deal w/ more than just homework.
