One word sums up what the leadership of this school embodies and that is INCREDIBLE, she is devoted to the educational growth, the spiritual growth, social growth, and intellectual growth. It is evident that she loves what she does and loves the children that attend this prestigious institution of learning. This school thoroughly prepares it's graduates for high school, college, and life beyond. It's only short comings are the size of the school. If the school had more space it would have lockers and a cafe as another parent suggested. I will continue to highly recommend this school to any one seeking a grade A education for any child in a welcoming and safe environment.
I do recoment this school to any of my friends and family ,the school program is very extensive and the great!. they really put the students to work hard in their homework and projects.I have my son since Pre-k now he is in 1st grade he has learn a lot.
I'd totally agree with the previous posting & add that it's headed by one of the most caring, righteous and understanding principals I've ever met. The open door policy is key. Somehow she's able to address all issues of concern. There are at least 7 educators that are creative, hands on learning advocates, whom I appreciate, the 8th grade team is strong in preparing them for HS. However there are a few who are strong to label a child's behavior instead of defining it and the sarcasm has to go. It's simply is not necessary.
I would say that Our Lady of Perpetual Help School is one of the best schools in Queens. It is neat, clean, and the kids are well disciplined. Most of the parents are very involved in the curriculum, and school projects. The school also en-force's no bullying. The principal Ms. De Luca is also wonderful and understanding. I do think however that the teacher's should be less judgmental about the students in regards to personal issues, and should reinforce positive learning. They also should have lockers for the children because all of the children have to carry huge backpacks with loads of books in them. I am personally concerned about their backs and spinal cord injuries when they become adults. Some one should donate lockers for the children. The children in grades 5-8 would also benefit from a socialization period which would involve exchanging notes, educational discussions, wi-fi, and a student lounge. They also offer school lunches that are from the public school, but many students would prefer a small cafe that would allow them to buy burgers, fries, pizza, healthy drinks, etc. My son has been going to the school for the past two years, and has an overall good average.
This is one of the best schools in South Ozone Park, NY. The Principal is lead by God and it is one of the best. She is not only a Great Principal she is a second mother to our children and a great mentor.
It's a wonderful learning environment for all children. My daughter has truly found a great place to learn. I recommend it to all my friends.
This school has great ed.and my daughter loves the teachers
I really love OLPH. I've been going here since the kindergarten and i had awesome teachers. there are only a few extra curricular and i think we need more. I am only involved in the band. I am also in the student council. I have met many friends at OLPH that I'll stick with forever. My teachers are very nice and caring and they devote themselves to each one of us. They treat us like we're all different, because we are.
i love this school. you enjoy the people. youre friends and everything there is ahmazing. something times are hard but when arent times hard? olph allowed me to score a 99% on my social studies state exam and 90s in the others. when you leave this school youll realize how much you miss it and how great it is there. the teachers teach well and make it fun too.
This school is the greatest schools. I have been to many different schools before but none of were as good as OLPH. The school is clean, students are well disciplined and the teacher do a really good job teaching us. I am an honor student graduating this year from OLPH. I can say the experience I have had in this school was really great and I would recommend you to send your child to OLPH.
