It was a great school and I have fond memories of being there as a student. It is too bad that the parish had to close the school.
SBJL was a great place to be.I have had three kids there. One graduated this year and the other two has to leave now.I have to say...it is the sadest thing ever.It was a great school, had great teachers and I am going to miss it as much as my kids will. Our memories will live on forever.
My daughter attended this school from PreK to 8th grade. The school needs new blood. The principal is out of touch and needs to be re-educated in new teaching techniques. Aslo, she needs to come into the 21 centruy. Children need a caring ear not lectures.... They can also do with some new teachers that speak english. They also need teachers that are not afraid to speak their minds when they disagree with the principal. And that parent that hangs out in the school all day should stay out of school business. They allow her to speak to students in a negative way which is inappropriate. I am happy my child is out of there.
this school is so good.they teach your kids what you did not know until high school.i love it!!
I enrolled my two kids from Pre-K and both graduated and moved on to Catholic HS. The teachers are great...the principal is always there to give you that smile and hug. As a parent you you certainly get to be involded in everything that goes on in the school. Great school to to mould your kids future.. Kudos to all.
i absolutly love this school . i will always remember it . We were all like family . i graduated from SBJl & it is trully great
I had the best years there and the teachers are great!!!
This school is the best it teaches good things to everyone.
When I transferred my three children to SBJL from public school, the oldest was entering 6th grade. He was furious that I was taking him away from the children he had known since kindergarten! In November, I asked him if he thought I had made a 'bad' decision. He said, 'Mom, here the teachers care if I learn or not; it's not just 'we do it once and then have to move on'. This from a 12-year-old; I knew I had made a good decision. The subsequent years continued my belief that the financial sacrifice was worth it for the sake of my children. The excellent education, the 'basics' of good morals and values, the safeness of the environment, the nurturing and concern from the principal, the teachers, the staff and the volunteers could not have been better. You only get one chance for an Elementary Education; this is the best!
As far as parent involvement goes, it's great. Most of the parents are always trying to help out and are always there for their children. But, this school doesn't offer much after school activities and as far as music and art goes, there is very little, if any. But they offer a wide variety of after school sports programs. Most of the teachers are extremely nice, kind, and considerate and want to bring out the best in all of their students. So, I would say if you want to enroll your child into a school that treats everyone like family and has lots of parent envolvement then, SBJL is the place to go.
