Spencer-Van Etten Middle School

very unfriendly,failure to return calls,failure to follow their own policies as far as students and teachers. the talk the talk but don't even crawl when when it comes to the walk. i spent more time at the school addresssing problems and trying to sort them out. then working my 2 full time jobs. again they are kind and nice when you know them on a personal level. lose paperwork, i could go on and on.

Personally,Ihave known the staff at the Middle School to be helpful and friendly. They make every attempt to communicate effectively and kindly. I am proud to be a parent of a child in our school district and know from personal experience the staff is always looking at ways to do things better, especially for the students.

I feel the adminisrastion at the middle school is VERY poor there is a lack of communication! There is no parent involvement, I have never felt welcome when entering the building, you never get a hello or may I help you. You almost have to be rude to get a response from anyone! There have been days that I have called and get no answer and if I do get a answer nobody will return the call. The midddle school is VERY slow when it comes to getting help needed for the kids to be successful. The only thing they are good at seems to be making empty promises and excuses!! I would love to see it be a great school like the Elm. and High School are. I hope somebody will open there eyes and make some positive changes there soon. I think it's time to take out the garbage.

I feel the elementary scholl is wonderful, there is lots of parent envolvement, you always feel welcome!! The teachers and administrative staff are always one step ahead getting the children everything they need to be successful. Great Job Elementary School!! If only it could be the same at the middle school!!!

I feel that some poor administrative and district choices led to the failing of athletic and arts programs. The community is strong and hopefully the quintessential extra-curricular activities will be reinstated. Right now this district is very unstable.

My children are in the middle and elementary schools. my opinion poll is based only on these schools. the teachers are great at communicating with me. the administrators work well with the staff to maintain a safe area for the children. I am very pleased with the progress my children are making. We moved here mid-year from Vestal Central School District. My children were doing very well in Vestal, but were behind in Math when they came to S-VE. Their teachers and I have worked with them to get them stronger with their skills. Both are coming along famously. Thanks for the dedicated teachers and staff.
