The principle is not very helpful with resources for kids...The school is more of a high school than Elementary. I did not know the school was so bad until i enrolled my kids and showed up without notice the kids classrooms look like shelters. Very unacceptable

Please stop, look and listen. befor you enroll your child\children into this school. my son was a victim of not only physical and mental abuse. by his classmates. while his teachers turn their faces and pretended not to see any harm beig conducted. Teachers are mean disrepectful and degrading the children while the principal appears to be lost in space. if your children has special needs, they will not recieve the appropriate care . how do i know?? cause my child was Neglected. so if your seeking a teacher in the school that will allow your child to come home unhappy then this is the school for you.

I love PS 251 because of the dedicated teachers and staff that work all year round to create and foster an environment that is constructive, positive, and practical. I have participated in several community service activities with the staff, students, and parents from planting trees in community parks, Refurbishing and painting the school playground, walking in the NYC AIDS walk 2009. To the creation and maintenance of a reading garden for the students.Even over the summer when the children are on vacation you can find teachers watering the garden and planting flowers, vegetables and herbs. I truley believe that the students of P.S. 251 benefit from the dedication of the teachers both in the classroom and outside of it. Thank you for considering P.S. 251

PS 251 was a good school but has been on the decline in the past few years. Some of the teachers are great and enjoy what they do while others treat it as a chore. The school can definitely recover with new leadership and more parent involvement.

PS 251 is a good school and could potientially be a great school of there was more parent involvement. The teachers and parent coordinator do a good job but we as parents need to get a little more involved and make this school great.

Majority of the teachers are great, principals are lacking leadership skills. School succeed because of ablities of teachers. Need more parent involment, more extracurricular activities.

My son has attended this school for the past two years. I never had a problem until now. There is a lack of communication between the teacher and the parent. She has no control or discipline over her class. I don't understand why I consantly have to ask the teacher for my sons test scores. Where should it take her three months to give back the scores? I have spoken to the Principal about this issue. I thought that putting my son into the afterschool program would help with his studies, that was a waste. When he comes home his homework is always wrong. This goes to show you that the Principal doesn't have control over her school. Someone other than the Principal and the teacher should take action to resolve these issues.
