Before transferring my child to this school, I was starting to dread the 'bad news' from the old school every day. Since my child has attended Stamford he has excelled beyond belief. He is doing wonderfully academically and socially in Stamford. I give Stamford, its teachers and administration an A+.

As a proud Alumnus of this school, I have to say that it supplied the foundation I needed to achieve my goals. The staff and faculty were always available and happy to provide extra support and guidance. The facilities and equipment are remarkably generous and well kept considering that the region it's in has relatively low income standards. The most important thing that I can say about this school is that the community truly is involved and encourages success for the students and the faculty. I attended this school from K-12 and graduated with a regents degree with honors. I am always proud to say that I went to Stamford Central. It's by far the best public school in the region, hands down!

When moving to this neighborhood, we were told to expect the best of everything at this school. Our experience couldn't be further from it. Parent volunteers are for the most part, frowned upon as 'disruptive' to the classroom. Special needs students are wonderfully cared for while gifted students are, for the most part left hanging. The principal seems slightly unwilling to be a partner in learning with parents. The bright star at the school would be the superintendant. He's helpful, cheery and just an all around good guy.
