PS 5 has such dedicated staff. They are ensuring that our children not only receive the best education possible but that they are growning into well rounded children with the skills to survive in this drastically changing world!!!!

My children receive a private school education at public school rates. P.S.5 is academically superb! The principal is an excellent educator, and accesible to students and parents. The staff is academically first rate, and attentive. It's population of about 220 students affords the staff, students, and parents, a true sense of community because almost everyone does knows each other. A large percentage of the parents are active in the schools PTA. The children score fabulously in all areas. On the flip side, a small school does have some disadvantages. Per student funding, and limited room, have left arts, music, and extra curricular activities by the wayside. Both the PTA and school try to provide special events and workshops, in an effort to offset this. Lastly, a small all purpose room takes place of the Auditorium, Gym and meeting room. ' There's no place in world I'd rather send my kids!'

This is a great 'little' school. The six years my child spent there the teachers were excellent with the exception of one. Has the children very prepared for Middle School. More parents need to be involved. Not much of a sense of community in this school.
