I expected better academy plan from this school. Male Assistant principal is rude and helpless.

What is being done about bullying? When an older boy can take money from a younger boy and get away with it, what is being taught? How to succeed in the workplace?

From my experience with this school, I find that trying to communicate with your child's teacher presents a challenge. Phone calls do not get returned on a timely basis or none at all. I did find that most of my childs teachers and staff were uncaring and impatient.

the teaching staff and support group, personnel are excellent. Very nice to see teachers and the management give a 100% to the kids. Tough to deal with kids everyday, alot of the children have alot of issues that the school and the teachers deal with it on a daily basis. IS 24 desreves a medal, and this award, the money will go to the children needs, I'm confident the money will do alot of good. Thank you

The new principal is awsome and cares for all staff (teachers, paras, etc) with respect and honesty. He turned this school around and it is now a more positive environment.

I love this school and all of it's employees. The teachers and paraprofessionals are dedicated people who think STUDENT first. Everyone strives to make the students be the best, reach for the stars , and never quit. I have never seen a more together school, a real team.

Just like the person below me, I believe Mr Beroro (sp?) works 50x harder then Miss O`neil. He's an awesome asistant princible. I am in 7th grade, and he knows us very well from the only two years I've been there!

I am a 7th grade student at i.S. 24 And i am shocked by the comments that just rave about my school! i feel our principle doesn't do here job, teachers can't control there classes half the time, i don't get to learn anything outside of the curriculum. Maybe it's the mayors fault for forcing teachers to teach such silly things but i would love to learn things deeper and in a more hands on experience. I am not to crazy about my teachers, some of them doubt students abilities far to quickly. I do love gym class, i wish we could have foreign language, gym, and talent (performing arts, computers, media, band, art, stagecraft) more than 2 or 3 times a week. I feel as if our assistant principle, mr. Buerrero seems to be working harder then our principle, mrs. O'neil, to make the school better.
