Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Although the school is located in a seemingly nice neighborhood, the corner of its location is one of the causes of highest accidents. The principal Linda Manfredi at this school is very unprofessional and can get really nasty, rude, and confrontational with parents when she has to deal with behavior issues inside the classroom. Not only that, the gifted and talented classes are taught by teachers who aren't even licensed to teach it. To makes matters worse, the principal places children, whom have never even taken the exam, into the G&T classes causing overcrowding inside the classrooms. If your child is in special education, I would not recommend this school because just dealing with the principal alone is like asking for a fight in the fighting ring. She'll treat you as though you're an opponent. She does not work well with parents to achieve success for the child.

I love this school for so many reasons . The principal really cares about her students which is clear from her interactions and parent hand book. She also inspires the children not only in education, but in character . P.S.29 is very involved in helping the community and supporting our country. The teachers are incredible as well. They are so dedicated and bring out different learning styles. The children are exposed to a large variety of enrichment classes . The newly updated Library is beautiful and inviting. My child loves going to school and is excited to go in the mornings. That yells me a lot. I know she is in good hands. The PTA is very devoted and always have been.

This school is amazing! I am a former teacher and a parent of a kindergarten student. My child's teacher is probably the best teacher I ever encountered. My child has learned more in the past 6 months then ever imagined. She is challenged everyday. The principal is extremely efficient! My child loves going to school!

This school is not good. Some teachers are great, while others don't care about the students needs. I also noticed a lot of favoritism. They have never made my children feel welcome. There are no art or music programs. I am not impressed with this school.

PS29 is truly a great school!!! My daughter started kindergarten this year, and she looks forward to every school day. Great staff, wonderful teachers, and the parents are all very involved. There is always something going on, whether they are collecting for one of their numerous charities or planning the next school trip. They are truly a "rare breed"....

This is a great school. My daughter graduated from Bardwell three years ago and my son is now in 5th Grade. First of all, the teachers are great. They really care about the kids. They also keep the parents well informed. They have an automated announcement system that phones messages to all families. There is homework every day. My kids have received a great education from P.S. 29. That's why they're my favorite school.

My eldest daughter attended here K-5th, my youngest has just started. Hands down, a top notch school with amazing, supportive staff and teachers. I have never had any negative issues here, and the Safety Officer is wonderful. The principal is very visible, always available to talk to and knows many of the children by name. Response time from teachers should you have a concern has always been prompt.

We attended the school walk-through last week, and Mrs. Manfredi personally greeted every child and every parent. I've NEVER seen something like this before. Today is my kindergartner's first full day in school, and both yesterday and today she was right there, helping out, being in the right in the middle of things. My husband and I are very impressed with Mrs. Manfredi and how well everything is organized.

Last night I attended parent/teacher conferences and was so impressed by the school. From the Principal to the teachers to the PTA, everyone is so involved! The school is immaculate thanks to the wonderful custodial staff. My child is in kindergarten and he has music, science and gym. The classes all utilize smart board technology and Mrs Manfredi has begun weekly automated messages via home phone. Ps 29 is really my child's home away from home!

I can't say enough about this school, the teachers, the staff and the Principle Mrs. Manfredi. The standards set here are quite high and they do everything to ensure that every child performs to their best ability. My son is in kindergarten and I can honestly say that the education he is receiving is as good if not better than any of the private 'Prep' schools here on Staten Island. Like others have said, this school is like getting an expensive private school education for free! Hands down the BEST on STATEN ISLAND!

This school is run so well, you can hardly believe it is a public school. The principal is tough but fair and the techers are top-notch. My daughter has been reading since the October of her kindergarten! Her classmates are lovely and the parents are just as involved, which contibutes to the sense of community and high-achieving learning environment. It is hands-down the best public school on Staten Island.

My daughter has just finished her first year at P.S.29 and I am extremely happy with this school! I think Ms.Manfredi does a GREAT job with this school, she is personable and very available to parents if there is a problem . The teachers here are all great and get involved in all the activities in the school!! I never thought my daughter would be reading a writing her own short stories coming out of Kindergarten!! But she is!!I think the ladies in the main office are very kind and eager to help in anyway. I am very glad that my daughter attends P.S.29 and in the event we might move I will purposely stay in this district so she can stay in enrolled here. Go Bengals!!
