Notre Dame Acedemy is a wonderful school. They offer a great education in an ideal environment.
My daughter recently enrolled in Notre Dame Academy as a transfer student. Before I enrolled her, I was worried about how taxing the transition will be on her. I am very happy to say that the transition was seamless. The girls in her grade welcomed her in the lunchroom on her first day, and you would think that they were friends for years. I am very happy with the academics and the environment that this school provides. Choosing NDA for my daughter was the best decision my husband and I ever made!
As a parent, I am very pleased with Notre Dame Academy. If only I could send my two sons here also!
I had recently enrolled my daughter into Notre Dame Academy Elementary. To say I am completely thrilled with this school is an understatement. Her teachers are wonderful and are providing my daughter with the foundation for long term success. My only regret is not enrolling her sooner.
My daughter has been at NDA since pre-k. She has been educated, nurtured, protected and loved. Sr. Rose was the very foundation of NDA and she is very much missed. I believe that Mrs. Signorelli cares very much for her students and faculty, is very intelligent and will continue NDA's greatness going forward. She is devoted to the mission of Notre Dame Academy and will strive to continue an atmosphere of exemplary education.
Notre Dame Academy is doing a wonderful job preparing the girls for high school. The teachers are excellent, always going above and beyond.
My child has been in this school since 2nd grade and she is completing 6th grade this year. If you notice, there is a shift in opinion that took place after Sr. Rose Galligan passed away in January, 2012. We personally have encountered incompetence, bullying, a complete lack of communication between the administration, teachers and parents and a generally horrific environment. My daughter now HATES going to school. This school is a petri dish full of bad bacteria. If your kid is bullied, they do nothing. They lack leadership, compassion and direction. It is a rudderless ship and I can't pull my kid out soon enough. The parents are every bit as cliqueish as the kids. I know kids whose parents put them into activities in OTHER schools, just to get away from the mean girls in their own class.
Reading the latest reviews about NDA saddened me, yes most of what was said indeed is true, however there is also wonderful things happening at NDA. There is definetly a lack of communication between the faculty and the parents, and personally I feel that the parents have way to much control over what happens in the classroom. That being said I have faith in Mrs Signorelli, it was her first year as principle and I'm confident that this up coming year will be a good one. I'm not giving up on NDA its a wonderful place and I'm proud to have my daughter here. Go NDA
Yes, it's true NDA isn't what it used to be. There is ABSOLUTELY no communication. Personally I feel it's all about the money, every time I turned around they were asking for more money. Honestly I would have no problem donating to such a wonderful school if my girls were getting the education they deserved. Every time I had a question or a concern and address it I felt as if I was wasting my time speaking up. Nothing was ever been done to correct the issues I addressed. The communication is pretty much non existent. Well unless you have the money to donate. Very sad but very very true. There is no extra help here either, you keep up, or get out, or get a tutor. The parents really do have way to much to say about everything. If you donate, your voice is heard, if not your not even acknowledged. It's not what I had envisioned as a prestigious, private school. NDA had a great reputation, I sincerely hope that things go back to the way they were because right now it's a total waste of money. They should put as much effort into the educators as they do The" fundraisers" that call your house on a Sunday evening asking for yet another donation as if my $8,500 tuition wasn't enough
Most of the reviews here are written by folks who believe that, since they're paying almost $10K a year all-in for elementary school, it MUST be the perfect environment for their daughter, case closed. Truth be told, the reviewer who posted Sep 29, 2012 is CLOSEST to the truth. Everything works great at NDA, for everyone, as long as no one complains. But try to speak up and have an objective opinion about the educational model, or the teachers, or the curriculum - virtually anything - and you are met with profound resistance. Plain and simple, if your daughter is thriving, the school responds with "well, that's us - we help your daughter achieve greatness!" Once hiccups occur (and they ALWAYS do) their mantra is "well, get outside help, because your daughter will hold back the rest of the class." At this point you have 2 options - shut up and deal with it privately, or move her out. We chose the latter. NDA wants to educate "perfect little ladies," and anyone who doesn't fit that model will be ousted, one way or another. You've been warned.
Reading all these comments makes me sick! This school isn't at all what the PTA moms & staff have written about. This school took away my child's self esteem and desire to achieve. My daughter was advanced but put down. There computer, language, and art classes are a joke. Elsewhere you get a lot more for what you pay for. What happens to the rest of the testing years? There is favoritism everywhere. Moved on before the new principal took over because after witnessing a friends graduation I saw all scholarships and awards land only to those that moved on to their NDA high school. Figured if my child wanted to be rewarded to excel I needed to move her out before they restricted her on a leash. Should you have a problem or concern you receive a bland response with no support. Parent teacher meetings are ridiculous. I personally do not believe after experiencing first hand this school that it can offer your daughters the best. Shop around the grass isn't greener here just because of its location. The atmosphere here is for the snobs of the rich and famous who's daughters love to bully and won't get into trouble because daddy will donate what they need. Its a joke of a school.
Excellent School! Notre Dame Academy Elementary provides a challenging and nuturing environment for young females. I curently have four daughters in the school and feel blessed that they get to go to such a wonderful place everyday.
If it is peace of mind you are looking for then search no more.....Great academics....each girl is treated like they are the only one that matters....I am a mom sorry to say of an 8th grade student. Our time is almost up. We have been with the school since Pre-K....NDA has been like a family to my family. Always there when u need them. All I can say is that if it were not for Sister Rose (even though she can be tuff at times) NDA wud never be what it is today.... She u all in the high school
All I can say is that the school is always there for my family and child. Whatever questions you have they will answer. The school is full of wonderful people and girls and I will continue to support our school. Thank you to all the faculty and to Sister Rose.
I am a very picky parent and visited many schools before choosing NDA for my daughter. I absolutely love the school! NDA provides a foundation that instills confidence in young women. My daughter began attending the school in Kindergarten and is now going into third grade. My youngest daughter is enrolled in the Pre-K iclass for September. Writing as a parent and educator, I feel the education, environment and experience at NDA is top notch. I highly recommend this school.
Notre Dame Academy was our choice entering 6th grade for our daughter. She is now completing 7 th grade. The students and parents have been welcoming and the academics challenging. There is help available whenever she has questions and the teachers very approachable. The transition from one school to Notre Dame was an easy and happy one. Only suggestion..ask questions when new to the school, especially entering in 6 th grade. Reading h The handbook isn't enough.
Notre Dame is more than a great school, its a caring and supportive community. With Sr. Rose at the helm I have never worried about the safety of my girls or about the quality of the education they receive. She continues to provide the girls with challenging academic programs lead by quality teachers. Students are taught not only traditional school subjects but also the importance of being a caring and compassionate member of society. I have been involved with NDA for ten years now and can't say enough great things about it. LOVE love LOVE this school. Send your daughters here - you won't be sorry!
NDA is a great school which celebrates each girls individual talents and and dreams. Superior education give the young girls of NDA elementary the foundation to achieve all that is possible.
It's a great school which helps young women to realize their full potential.
Notre Dame has proven its excellence!!! My daughter comes home happy every day, loving her Pre-K teachers and educating us on her day! We love the smaller environment and beautiful facility!!!
