This school offers very small classes which is a plus and a negative. If you have any issues with another child, there is no other class for your child to transfer to.

Teacher effectiveness: Strongly agree

The smaller class sizes allow for more individual attention and the teachers can reach all students.

Amount of homework: Agree

Children need homework to REINFORCE what they learn in school. The HW at this school is just that. It is not a child just doing assignments for the sake of doing assignments.

We have been a part of this wonderful school for many years. Our children have made great progress here. The smaller classes and dedicated teachers have given our kids a love of learning.

This small school has the ability to really communicate. The teachers know most of the students by name even in different grade levels. my kids ELA/Math scores have improved each year. I have heard of kids going to TECH and many Catholic HS after they graduate.

Amount of homework: Agree

From week to week homework may shift. My kids are well prepared to do any assignment at home. All homework connects to school work and is not just busy work. They started giving out HW planners a few years ago and that has helped my kids tremendously.

Develops character: Strongly agree

I believe this school helps develop honesty, integrity and fairness in its students by setting an example. The teachers always offer kids the opportunity to explain all situations. They do not tolerate bullying in any forms. The religious aspect also reinforces these values.

I have been a part of St. John's Lutheran for many year. My children transferred from overcrowded public schools. I have found the administration, teachers and faculty to be hard working and nurturing. The small class sizes allow my children to get the attention they need. I have seen this school under both principals. They are different women, but both have the best interests of the students at heart. The current principal is warm and welcoming. I am so glad we found this school.

This was a great school when the old principal was there. Sorry to say but its been down hill ever since she left. There is a constant revolving door of new teachers. Most educators do not put their children in the schools they work at because it is a conflict of interest. It seem the only children that benefit from the small classes, big results motto on their website are the children of the people that work there. Very disappointed.

St. John's Lutheran School has a caring and involved staff. The principal is wonderful! She takes time to meet and greet parents during her busy schedule. She knows her students well. She is a fine educator and is continuously training her staff and moving toward helping her students receive a quality education.
