Deciding what school to send your children to is an incredibly important decision. When it came time for my son to attend a school, my husband and I set out to find a school that would make my child excel academically. I wanted my child to have a rigorous education, but I also wanted him to develop social skills and learn the value of community service. At OLQP, I found all that and more. The curriculum provides a challenge to my son and I can see the great strides in learning that he has made over the past couple of years. What's more, OLQP has family events and a sports program that allows for my son to develop social skills that will help him in high school and beyond. The most important part, to me, however, was the sense of community. Mrs. Signorile, the principal, is readily available and always willing to assist with the wide array of issues that come up in a child's life. The teachers, parents, and students all know each other and help each other. It is an open and caring community. If I had the opportunity to go back and choose a school for my son all over again, I wouldn't even hesitate to choose OLQP again. It is simply an excellent school.
Our Lady Queen of peace is an amazing school. The Principal and Teachers are very attentive to the students and parents needs. The school does a lot of service for the community.
OLQP is a great school. Mrs. Signorili is a very hands on principal and takes the time to review all the kids test scores on each individual test through out the year. The kids and teachers strive harder to achieve because they know everyone from the top down is watching. Yet it's done in a spirit of community and achievement as opposed to Big Brother watching. The teachers are all very capable and most have been there a long time. The new core curriculum looks like it will be presenting it's own set of challenges throughout this city BUT Im confident OLQP will rise to the occasion on that. They do not fail their kids. I have three children in OLQP. I couldn't be happier.
A great school with challenging programs. A lot to do for the kids- drama, art, band, bricks for kids, chess, Girl Scouts, sports, etc... The teachers are very good- and there are no other words for the principal but amazing and hard working. She really knows her stuff and does put the children first.
I am an alumnae of OLQP. I believe it provides a great education in a safe nurturing environment.
OLQP HAS AN EXCELLENT PRINCIPAL,TEACHERS,ACTIVITIES AND IT'S STUDENTS AND FAMILIES COME FIRST AND FOREMOST.WE LOVE IT!
The teacher are attentive to the childrens requirement as evidenced by the students good works and grades.
My daughter and my son are both graduates of OLQP they received very good educations , were well prepared for HS and made lifelong friends. I feel this school s a pillar of New Dorp.
It gives children a good educational foundation and at the same time teaches them to repect people and love GOD.
Our Lady Queen of Peace School helps their students help the less fortunate. The students have plenty of opportunities to do charitable works. I commend them.
I love OLQP for some very important reasons. They have raised the bar on all learning opportunities, inside and outside the classroom. They work hard to create a community that promotes leadership as well as providing high quality academics, sports and the arts. It's not easy to find a school that works so hard to ensure that all those bases are covered. I really admire them for that.
My niece and nephew both attend OLQP ..I think they have great teachers and a great program for the kids!!!
My daughter started in OLQP in pre-k, over 4 years ago, and has been fortunate to have had such a positive learning and nurturing environment shape the outstanding student she is today,
all 5 of my children went there. the education was excellent, and they were taught respect, values and morals.
