My children had such a nice experience at Willits. The staff is warm and caring. Mrs. Tabone is an amazing principal. She welcomed any parents with questions and concerns. If there were ever any issues she made her own personal observations in order to make appropriate decisions. She makes this school a warm and nurturing environment for every student. We pay high taxes here in this district but it is worth every penny!
I have to agree, our son started Kindergarten, and they are learning russian. Russian! The 1st and 2nd graders are learning chinese! On top of all their other languages... my son came backl from school so excited... 'I love Willits.. I love my teachers, I love the principal, I love that I am learning russian. I love school. When my son is loving school and that excited... you know something is being done riht!
Willits Elementary is the crown jewel of Syosset elementary schools. The prinicpal is genuinely involved in all aspects of students' lives and has her priorities in order. The Willits community has tremendous 'down-to-earth' parental involvement. Willits succeeds in the great feat of nurturing children's love of learning.
This is an excellent school with a real focus on parent involvement. The principal is a big reason why this school excels. She is involved and knows the students and teachers. Her influence is felt in many of the school functions.
