Because these are children who really strive to overcome life as it is and much more to overcome all the barriers they face day in and day out in an underbudgeted school
Anyone who says that Blodgett is a wonderful place to work is not being honest and you know it.
I currently have children attending Blodgett. They welcomed us to the school with open arms. I have built up a good repoire with staff. I feel the teachers are giving their all for their students but they do not always receive it back. I commend them for doing a fantastic job with these kids. I see them being treated fairly. They also have multiple programs that could benefit your child. I really am glad we picked Blodgett for our children. I JUST WISH THEY WOULD HURRY UP AND DO THE RENOVATIONS TO MAKE THIS SCHOOL SAFER FOR ALL!
I am currently a teacher at Blodgett, it's a great place to work! The teachers are helpful, friendly, and demonstrate care & concern for students. The students are great! There can be challenges, but that is what teachers do rise above the challenges to ensure all students are treated fairly, and working to the best of their ability.
Blodgett is a great school. I have never worked with a more caring, or generous staff in my career. In my experience, the staff at Blodgett want to really help their students in every way possible. The actual building, however, needs a complete renovation quickly.
As a former teacher at Blodgett School, I felt very unappreciated. I didn't feel that I was given much respect for my experience and needs. Although we were working in a very stressful environment, I still felt that the main goal was to keep students in the classroom and out of the office, even if they were disrupting the class so much that they could not learn. It was so unpleasant to work there that I considered other careers. I have worked in three other settings since Blodgett, and in every case I have been treated with respect and received support for my program.
