Howell Rd. is an extraordinary school. My daughter, who is now 14 and my son, who is 8 years old, attend Howell Road School and they have excelled not only in their learning skills, but in their social skills. Howell Road is a diversed school, that enhances the children's awareness of other cultures.

Great school! my kids entered the school mid-year. This was suppose to be a temporary move. They loved the school so much, we are considering staying in the area. They also did very well on all their subjects and made plenty of friends. This was great considering they did not attend a full year..

My daughter is in the 2nd grade and she loves HRS. I am a renter in this area and I want to buy a home but I hate the thought of moving out of the neighborhood. The teachers are so wonderful, my daughter has not lost her enthusiasm for learning. Parents are very involved, it is a very diverse neighborhood and there is a lot of extra curricular activities for all ages. HRS is GREAT! Carla

My son went to hrs in the 6th grade. When we first moved to valley stream back in 2002. I thought it was a phenomenal school. His 6 grade teacher was unbelievable with the students. They really do have a great academical program. She really looked out for him and referred him to enter the accelarated program in memorial and now he goes to central and is in the 10 grade now taking ap courses and in the high honor roll. District 13 really has great schools.

My child is in Kindergarten at HRS and is doing very well. I chose this area to live because of the school system. HRS has excellent programs. The teachers enjoy the children. They inform the parents of their lessons through weekly notes. To reduce class size, the school began a 4th kindergarten class. They're learning math problems using the Chicago Math Program where they observe everything around them as it relates to math. They have weekly art and music programs, gym, reading and computer labs. The school allows the parents to interact with their children during school hours for special arts and crafts projects. The parents volunteer when needed. The school has library time weekly for preschoolers. The principal is young and very supportive of the parents, children, and teachers. He is visible and very passionate about educating our children. I am very happy with this school.
