This school has more of a private school feel then public. They have high academic expectations. I can honestly say , along with my children there isn't one staff member not to love. The teacher's dedication is amazing and because of the small size they really get to know your child's strengths and weaknesses. I would strongly disagree with the comment made about kindergarten more at a preschool level, I was blown away at how much the children are expected to learn and do successfully learn by the end of the year. There are many staff members that not only live in the district but have children attending our schools as well and that speaks volume!

Kindergarten at Richard Mann is more of a preschool level so if your child is sharp and ready for Kindergarten, they will not benefit in the academics yet. Communication starts off great but then becomes difficult. We don't get the feeling that parents are welcome even though they try and portray that message. The facility is wonderful and has a great atmosphere. We do appreciate that the specials (P.E., music, etc) are an extension of what is being learned in the contained classroom.

This is a very safe elementary school in a small community. The facility looks much better than some private schools around. Full time KG which is an attraction. The teachers challenge the kids with right amount of home work from first grade. Most of them are very approachable. The only drawback could be a few less experienced teachers replacing more experienced ones recently. But that is the way it is going to be anywhere. The school board is implementing lots of progressive plans.

State standards drive basic, quality academic programing. Overall teacher quality is good, with 50% rating as superior. Students with academic needs fare rather well. Where as high end students need to be given more attention. Music, Art and Phys. Ed. available to all students on a frequent basis. Extracurricular act. limited to 4-5th grades. The level of parental involvement is equal to desire. Various parent groups available, encouraged and necessary due to budget constraints. Overall rating high for what is offered in this very community driven district.
