My daughter started kindergarten this year and it's been amazing thus far.the principles and staff are devoted to the children's well being. I appreciate the order and structure they apply to make this school safe and productive. Every teacher and staff member has been nothing but attentive to any concerns I may have. Highly impressed from day 1.

To Feeling Bad.....As a taxpayer in this district, I find it compelling that you would tell me to move out of the district if I have complaints. The state didnt force this district to make the choices it made. If you look past your own comments, you may be happy paying more and more taxes for LESS.... but some of us love this town and look to fight the complacency with the spending in this and ALL districts. The only ones suffering ARE our kids

I feel bad for anyone who has had a poor experience at Saw Mill. My three children have attended this school for years and I've always been happy with the quality of instruction they have received. I understand the school is more crowded but our District was forced to make cuts due to the property tax cap. Those parents who love to complain about the Board of Education should be more proactive and sit down and write a letter to our Governor and local leaders who took away our right to manage our school budgets. The current tax cap is destroying our schools and having a few more children in our classes is a direct result. As for the parents in this school having poor parenting skills, I take great offensive to that comment. We are both professionals who take pride in our parenting skills. We have amazing Saw Mill friends who also take pride in being good parents. My children have made life long friends at Saw Mill who are good natured beautiful children with solid families. North Bellmore is a lovely place to raise a family. If someone isn't happy they SHOULD move out of the area maybe they could move to Seaford or Wantagh where the class sizes are a lot bigger than ours.

A few years ago I may have given this school 5 stars but things have deteriorated here. First issue is the bullying, there is no doubt it is an issue, I have spoke with several parents about it. The second issue is the closing of Gunther where most of those children were sent to Saw Mill making it even more over crowded. I don't blame the school for the bullying, clearly it is a problem with the parenting here in this community. I cannot recommend this school anymore, I would suggest looking elsewhere. We are leaving this district next year.

My children attend Saw Mill Rd School and I've been happy with the teachers and the school. They LOVE it! I feel the children are all treated equally and the teachers care about the needs of the children.

Saw Mill Road school is great if you fit the mould. For even slightly diverse families looking for a open minded and nurturing environment for your child to excel, perhaps this is not the place for you, although I would venture to say that much of the south shore of Long Island is the same. Being an educator and having lived here for many years, it's an unfortunate reality that regardless of your socioeconomic status or level of education, certain groups will always be treated as second-class citizens.

I have one child in Saw Mill and another one entering Kindergarten in September. I am so pleased with the two teachers my son was placed with. He has learned so much and has developed such confidence as a learner it is amazing. I owe it all to these fabulous teachers who have provided him such a rewarding learning experience.

I have one child in Saw Mill who just finished kindergarten. His experience was terrific and I feel terrible for the parent who had a bad experience with her child who is an inclusion child. I am also a teacher and I believe that teaching tolerance to your children is first and foremost. I hope that any new students and parents entering Saw Mill have as positive an experience as I had.

My experience was not good.My child recommended to come here for an inclusion class for kindergarden. The class was disorganized and the teacher was extremely uncooperative when it came to me or my son.I also came under fire by many parents regarding my son and his reason for being there. The district has placed all inclusion classes at this school and parents do not like this decision and me and my child were made to feel like second class citizens.

My daughter just finished her 5th year at saw mill and each year has been better than the previous. From administration to lunchroom helper the staff at saw mill has the children in mind first and foremost. The teaching staff is beyond incredible, caring, nurturing, kind, considerate, loving, stern, and professional. Just a wonderful experience for my daughter.
