Pine Island School

The Pine Island Elementary school will be closed at the end of the 2010-2011 school year. Luckily, what makes it great, the teachers. will be reassigned within the district. The PIE (Partners in Education) program originated at Pine Island in 1984, it was moved to Sanfordville in 2000.

Pine Island School is the home of the Partners in Education program, involving parents in classroom contributions and imploying wonderful hands-on learning strategies. Pairs up 1st and 2nd graders in the same class and 3rd and 4th graders. Small school--every secretary knows every child's name. I loved coming in to help my daughter's class co-ordinate art projects with the curriculum. I was a teacher in another school for 30 years and this is the best school I've ever seen.

As a parent of two girls at Pine island school i can honestly say that the teachers and staff are the best. Mrs Hamburger is a very thoughtful and caring principal and all the teachers are first rate.Most parents are very involved and I would highly recommend this school to anyone

Pine Island is a very small elementary school with 2 classes per grade and 17-20 students per class, K-5th. The small class size allows teachers to provide students with individual attention. Known as 'the best kept secret in Warwick,' because it is part of the wonderful Warwick Central School District located in the small community of Pine Island.
