Parents please beware. Don't let your guard down with these administrators. My five year old was forced on the wrong bus by a teacher, to be lost for several hours. The response from the principle was that we only loose a few kids a year. The most recent horror was when he was terrorized by the lunch personal because a friend gave him ice cream money. Now he is afraid to enter to lunch room. How has this place not been shut down by child protective services?
My son also had Mrs. Villa as a teacher I thought she was absolutely wonderful. She was very sympathetic to the stresses on my son due to my husband being overseas for a deployment for the whole year. I found her very caring and always willing to answers questions I had. My son has learned such a wonderful foundation in school this year and I thank his teacher for that.
My Son completed Kindergarten this year and his overall experience was great. His Teacher, Mrs. Villa, did a fantastic job. He is reading, writing, and counting, and its all because his teacher really cares. I personally visited the school on several occasions, and it was very clear that Mrs. Villa takes a personal interest in all of her student, as well as other students attending the school. During my visits, I had the opportunity to speak with a few other Kindergarten teachers, and they were extremely professional and caring. Bottom line: North Elementary School is an Elementary school with a great staff that cares about its students.
My son had wonderful teachers and they were somewhat sensitive in handling our military issues. However, my son was bullied so badly he wanted to change schools. Also, the children are not watched well enough outside the classroom. Unfortunately, my son was exposed to words and concepts from other students he was not old enough for and then when he told nothing seemed to be done about it.
I have found that there are some really good teachers in this school. Unfortunatly, my daughter did not get one this year. Some teachers and principle are very insensitive to military issues. I caution everyone with a military child to at this school to take precautions.
