West valley has the benefits of a private school w/o the tuition bill. High academic scores, small class sizes, one on one teacher help, every one knows and cares about you, etc.

WVCS is a wonderful place. You feel the warmth as you enter the building. The staff and administration love the students, the school and it shows. It is a private school atmosphere in a public school. My three children graduated from WVCS and were very well prepared for college. They were all very successful in college and the reason is West Valley Central School and its staff. The amount of music is limited to band and chorus. Everyone can play sports if they choose. There are several extracurricular activities to choose from. The school is the heart of the community and it shows.

I have 2 children in the elementary school both with special needs. The school is so small that every teacher and administrator knows my children and their needs and supports them in everything they do. The principal Bonnie Smith is awesome, she ensures that every child receives individual attention. Education is of the highest quality. It is like a private school, currently due to small size annexation is being explored. This will ruin the shool if it happens. WVCS is outstanding academically, socially, and in their concern for their students.

Although I am not a mother of a student of WVCS I still want to give a comment on this school. I spent one year there as an exchange student and it was the best year of my life. Not just that my host mother, who was a teacher of this school herself, and my family was great, also the teachers and the whole staff of WVCS was nice and very helpful in all things I can remember. They encouraged me a lot for several new things like colorguard and basketball which I had never done before and they cared for me having fun and improving. WVCS is a big part of my exchange year and I am very thankful for the many things the staff taught me by caring for me and not giving up. WVCS and its atmosphere was/is great and I wish schools in Germany would be like it.
