I went to this school many years ago. I left in 6th grade to go to the Latin School. I loved the school but academically it was more like a baby sitting service. I had mostly A's and when I went to KMHS I found out the hard way I wasnt well prepared. There is nothing more depressing than going from one of the smart kids to the kid lucky to be able to attend. I hope that the academics have gotten better over the years. I did love everything else about the school. It would be sad if they closed. I have great memories of the school but the numbers seem low. I wish St. B's all the best.
I never thought Id miss this place so much. I attended STBOLH for 9 years and I wouldnt have had it any other way. First off the building is amazing. The playground is a blast. The staff is awesome and very kind. They know every student by name and are there to help whenever you need it. They make every child feel comfortable. The principal is one of the kindest men ever, who does his job sternly, and yet still manages to keep all of the kids smiling and happy. There are TONS of activities to choose from. Lots of yummy food. And the bonds you make here last forever. (no cliques was a plus) I love it here and would recommend it to anyone! Class of 2008.
St. Brigid/OLH is a wonderful school! The faculty and staff truly care about the kids, and the kids are the most respectful bunch I've ever seen. The students welcome new kids with open arms, there are no cliques, there are hundreds of after school activities, they have state of the art technology. You can feel the love as soon as you walk in. Definately consider sending your children here. It's the best money I've ever spent!
St.Brigid/OLH in Westbury,NY is a place where you can just be yourself. There is much diverseity in this school and I personally thinks to perpares my classmates and I for the real world. I love that you can asked everyine in your class what is there background and they all have a different answers. I also think that the teachers are very creative because they think of different ways to teach students. Most of the time when I wake up on Monday I can't wait to go to school and see what interseting thing is going to happen today. I love it so much that I have had the privilege of going to an amazing school like St.Brigids. If you are a parent or student you should really consiter going or sending your chile to this school. The school goes from k-8. I would highly reccomend this school!!
Even though when I left the school I was really desperate, now, looking back, I truly do love it. The enviornment is amazing, everything is so family-oriented, and friendly. There weren't many cliques, and students there were mostly fair in treatment to each other. The academics definately prepared me for high school, seeing that I was valedictorian, got accepted to all three high schools I wanted, and got into many honors classes. However, I believe that Math A and higher science classes should've been offered when I was around, but I'm glad they offer it now. The school isn't too strict, but has a good level of discipline. The school has many extra-curriculars to get a student invovled. The only thing about the school I would've liked is an environment for middle schoolers to be able to make that transition into high school. Overall, it is delightful school.
My son just recently graduated from St B's in June 2007. He attended since 1st grade. The teachers and support staff are very supportive and caring. He also participated in numerous activities. Besides the wonderful academics( yes he was accepted into all three schools he applied to for high school) , the morales and respect that each of the students are taught and how they live by it , is difficult to describe, you can not learn it anywhere else. The school also has a wonderful family atmosphere and there is no where else you can find such wonderful people. Thanks to all and we miss you Mary C
This school is a great school. The edication my kids get there is really outstanding!
Excellent school with a diverse population of students. The parents are quite involved and are encouraged to volunteer in the school . If you like a family oriented small school environment this is a great choice. Also the tuition is reasonable. Great teachers and faculty.
St.Brigid is a wonderful family oriented religiously academic school. I could not of chosen a better beginning for my two children. They attended from pre-8th, with my younger child getting ready for 8th grade and my oldest in catholic h.s. preparing for 11th grade. The children are so respectful and friendly, if they see you anywhere they approach you with kind gestures. Most of my daughters'friends still get together with her on occassions. The academics are excellent. They acknowledge every child's capabilities, the sky's the limit. The teachers are wonderful, friendly, they always greet you with a smile on their face. My son did not look forward to going to school when he was 3yrs.old,when he started in pre-k he did not want to miss a day. Since then he had been honored many times for his hard work academically at school. My daughter was also honored for her work at St.Brigid.
I have been to this school for eleven years of my life, and I have loved every minute of it. The teachers.......Great. The students......Great. The faculty..........Great. The academics here prepare you well for high school. Most of the things taught at my high school were tought or were tuched up at st. Brigid/olh. The teaching is outstanding. The enviornment is outstanding. Every student has their own group of friends, no matter who they are. The good thing about it is that every student has their own culture and background. The field trips are amazing. Washington d.C, philadelphia, and greenkill were the best. Even though I haven't been to many schools in my life, I am proud st. Brigid was one of them
This school is amazing. I went there from pre-8th grade. My family loved it and so did I. Every year we go on trips, We went to Philadelhia for 2 days, we went to washington D.c for 3 days, and we went to Greenkill for 1 week. Its all educational and amazingly fun. Grade 7th and 8th go.
This school is a great school. I graduated and have been accepted to every high schools I applied for. It has prepared me for my future, challenging me every step of the way- the middle school teachers really care --Mr. Clagnaz and Mrs. Khalil are really awesome-- and I will miss it, They make you feel like youre in a family. I hope someday when i get older and have my own kids I can send them to St. Brigid.
This is not the most excellent school for high school preperation. Of course it prepares you but it was a little boring. Homerooms arent that great unless youre an older kid who likes to be around younger kids. As an eigth grader, i wanted to be in a classroom with fellow eigth graders, but instead i was in a homeroom with seventh and sixth graders. If the staff expects everyone to make friends with people out of our grade, yeah we will, it just isnt enjoyable to be in a classroom with people much younger than you, its okay but it gets annoying sometimes and it also causes some trouble. The extracurricular activities are.. whatever. The level of parent involvement.. a little too high for such a small amount of children, but we appreciate it. But the Academics are good except for science.
I am a student of this school and say the princiapal is ok, the middle school teachers are the best.
st brigids school- excellent school. my daughter loves it. she is 5 yrs. old and has been attending since nursery. the teachers are very good and treat your child like their own. religous education is outstanding. my daughter knows the hail mary already, and specific holidays. mr. clagnaz is a very good principal. the education is very good, up to date with modern technology. do not let anyone talk you out of sending your child to this wonderful school.
St. Brigid/Our Lady of Hope School has completely changed my daughter's outlook on school. In public school for 1 yr. she was traumatized, hated everything about school, from the bus, to the teacher,to the principal and any type of reading. My daughter now loves school again and it greatly has to do with the loving & nurturing staff of teachers and administrators at this school. The children are respectful and so friendly. The prayer buddies, have older children buddying up w/the little ones and really is a wonderful idea and initiates the love within the student body. We really just can't say enough about this school. It gave our child back the love of learning and that will now last a lifetime.
This school's education is very slow, you would be better off with a public school. This school is a waist of three thousand dollars. This is a horrible school to prepare your children for high school.
The school is a wonderful place to give your child a step in not only a superb education but a well balanced spiritual background. The students come from diverse backgrounds and are truly part of the school.
