Amazing school, amazing students, amazing admin, amazing board
I have a handful of kids in this school. The newest Superintendent/principal is a step or two down from the last, and likes to pass the buck. This school has had something like a new Superintendent every other year. Like most schools, this one has its really bad elementary teachers and its good ones. For a small school, plenty of money (high taxes) and more extracurricular than necessary. Tons of field trips, etc.
The student/teacher relationship is incredible here. Because of the size of the school you get to know everyone on a personal level. Our new vice principal is amazing at her job. Not only is she a kind person but she is fair in her disiplinary actions. She has gained the respect of everyone who spends their days at Westport Central. The extracurricular activities are not only extensive but the students have to opportunity of being on anything and everything, which isn't always the case in a big school. In short, I love it here, and any move to live here would be a smart one.
Ever since the new principal came here, the parent/teacher relationship has improved. my son enjoys school and is looking foward to going back after summer break.....thank you!
