With only 1 exception, Harris Hill has a wonderful teaching staff as well as employees that make it a warm, inviting place to be. The teachers are great, Principal Corrie is great, the only complaint I have is Mrs. MGovern the school Admin. I am certain to speak on behalf on many many MANY mothers and fathers that I know as members of the PTA that she is patronizing, condescending and downright rude. That being said I am so glad that my daughter attends this school and is so happy.
For the most part I find this school to be a wonderful learning place for my child. The majority of the teachers are just wonderful and caring people. They go above and beyond there job description and I praise them for this. I won't let the one bad apple ruin the review for the rest. Even though this teacher made my childs 3rd grade year an absolute nightmare . I would like parents to know that if your child needs any special schooling to be ready to fight for it and don't give up. Also if you are a parent that is looking forward to becoming an "active" parent as far as volunteering for school activities I advise you to somehow get into the parents "click" because if you don't you will feel very lonely.
Great School, nice teachers, excellent extra-curricular activities. They do not have a Gifted and Talented program till Grade 4 to challenge talented kids more.

I have two children that attend Harris Hill Elementary, one in 5th grade and one in 2nd grade. The school is wonderful. It is safe,fun (for both parents and students) and has the highest quality, caring teachers and staff I have ever encountered. The Music department is super, offering band, orchestra and chorus. The school also offers many other extra curricular activities (French, Spanish, Chess Club, Pottery, and many sports). Parental involvement is encouraged. I highly recommend this school to anyone moving to the area.
