Sad to say but this school is all about the facade....form over substance. I plan to transfer my kid next year. If you are a prospective parent, do your research and as nearby parishes with schools. More often, you will find the people to be friendlier, standards higher, and the tuition cheaper by $ 600.00.

I'd like to thank Mrs. Browne for being a true 'teacher'. Since Mrs. Browne's arrival at CTK she has empowered both teachers and students to always put forth their best efforts. It is because of Mrs. Browne that Christ the King School has, and will continue to have, its fine reputation. A+ for Mrs. Browne, and long live Christ the King School!

As someone who has been involved with Catholic schools for nearly 20 years as both a parent and teacher, I have had the opportunity to interact with many principals and teachers on many different levels. I chose to work at CTK because I was so impressed by the dedication and professionalism displayed by both the teachers and the principal. After working for and with many principals, Mrs. Browne is the first one I've known who treats all of the teachers, parents, and children with dignity and respect at all times. She also listens to our concerns and acts immediately to rectify any problems and bring positive changes to our school on a constant basis!

My children are very happy in this school. As a parent, I am very satisfied with how the principal runs the school, the parental involvement , which is always encouraged, and the dedication of the teachers. The changes that were made were excellent ones. As far as having financial difiiculties, ALL schools, private and public, have fund raisers to help ease financial burdens. No school is perfect, but there are some who just look to find fault in everything. I know that my children are in a safe and caring environment with a teachers who do their best to provide a great education for them and you can't put a dollar amount on that. Keep up the good work Mrs. Browne!

The bottom line is this -- parental satisfaction and involvement at CTK is at an all-time low. Programs have been cut. Parents are constantly being asked for money for fund-raisers, dress-down days, school events, concerts, etc. This school is HURTING financially. This principal is too concerned with trying to make herself look good and pretending that everything is fine, that the real problems and issues are being ignored. She cannot communicate, does not like to take suggestions or hear any criticism, especially from those that don't agree with her ideas or those who want more input into their child's education. She does her best to keep parents at bay -- does anyone ever get past the front door except when being invited to an event and having to pay for the privilege?? Wake up people -- this school is headed for the "closure" list.

I am very honored to work at Christ the King School. Our faculty is devoted to creating the best educational experience. We take pride in our classrooms. Many of the long term and new teachers would never even think of working anywhere else.

I concur with the previous posters regarding the "stand-offish" aura of the principal...which turns off a lot of parents. I know a few who have decided to enroll their kids elsewhere. Parent cliques are also common. Too many fundraisers suggest financial distress. As the other review also said, parents are not allowed unless there is a school event ( with a $ 5.00 fee of course) . I can name a few schools that have both the educational focus without sacrificing the "family warmth".

New school year...same old story... What this school needs is effective LEADERSHIP, not an administrator who plays favorites, rearranges the staff, lacks communication skills and ignores problems. Parent involvement has declined this year (a lack of lunch monitors and lunch time coverage) because of the attitude of the administration which is not parent-friendly. Cuts in special programs suggest financial difficulties -- no designated library or computer teachers this year, meaning classroom teachers are responsible for these areas. Unfortunately, this school is on the decline. And in response to the post of August 27th - when "schools are getting heavy subsidies from the Archdiocese", they are usually CLOSED. It's time time to make a change!

It would be great if a review (Aug. 3) would be honest in writing. All Catholic schools are on the decline because of costs in this poor and declining economy. It is amazing when you don't get what you want, what a person will write in spite and dishonesty. ALL, I repeat ALL of our schools, especially when they are getting heavy subsidies from the Archdiocese, have major funding raising. It is a fact of life for any and ALL schools. Our teachers are dedicated as is our principal. Day in and day out they are here trying to do what is right and best for the children. Our reputation is immaculate and well deserved. But, no matter how good, the economy has taken iys toll on all our schools, but we still give like no one else, no matter what the numbers are.

This school is deficient in so many areas: poor leadership, a principal who lacks people skills and alienates parents, significant safety issues, parent cliques and declining enrollment to name a few. The constant fundraising suggests financial difficulties as well. Several families (including mine) left in June and more are following. Specials have also been cut back (there was no computer teacher this year and the children missed Spanish instruction for the last few months.) Things are done "for show", but the reality is this school's reputation is on the decline.
