Hudson View Christian Academy is a small religious school one block off of Broadway in North Yonkers. The school teaches the core curriculum materials well as verified by standardized teaching and emphasizes character development and Biblical teaching. That along with small classrooms and dedicated staff are its strengths. Its weaknesses would be its facilities, overemphasis of video teaching especially in the upper grades, almost total lack of extracurricular activities including P.E., and possible deficiencies in staff credentialing. Considering this is a private school with no government assistance, the cost of tuition for a parent with Christian concerns still make this a viable option. As with all reviews, do your OWN research.

The school has dedicate teachers who have all been here for over 10 years. The curriculum is excellent the mixed grade classes work surprisingly well. It helps both struggling and advanced students. My son is graduating after 13 years there. He is well prepared for going into the world and living for Christ.

Greatest secret in the County. Students are taught to love the Lord and know the Scriptures. And the standardized test scores show they have a strong curriculum and good educational philosophy.

I am amazed at how much my son has learned at this small school. he has also made great frends and loves school. The teachers really love the children and do everything possible to help them be successful. The teachers are there to serve God by ministring to the children. This school is one of the best kept secrets in Westchester.

HVCA is a safe place for children. The classroom setting are small and developing character is above all. The school environment is teacher center, it's not a data driven school school and is really one size fits all.

This school was great until about high school. The elementary and middle school have a great cirriculum that has kids reading by first or second grade. In high school the classes got a little mixed up and they had all of high school taking the same history for example when the older kids should be taking something else. Great school for younger kids.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
