I highly recommend Emmanuel Lutheran School in West Asheville, North Carolina. All of the teachers are so kind to each child, that is encouraging each to their strengths. The school is true to the child's education, and classes are not a blend. All three of my kids have thrived under the direction of teachers who have taught at Emmanuel Lutheran School for many years. My children LOVE to attend and learn. I am convinced that this school has set a solid foundation for their learning and that they have developed a true love for learning. The school offers advanced academics, arts, and sports, all of which my children love participating in and have obtained an appreciation for each. I am confident we made the BEST choice for our children at Emmanuel Lutheran School.

Handles bullying effectively: Strongly agree

The educators are on top of bulling, by which they stomp it out quickly and help children direct and communicate.

Supports LD students: Agree

I have to say that I am impressed with Emmanuel Lutheran School learning structure. Sure, every child learns differently, but the teachers take that into account and strive to help each child be successful.

Effective school leaders: Strongly agree

Child can thrive in a structured environment. And for a good structure and environment, you know that starts at the top. The leadership at Emmanuel Lutheran School is brilliant and invested in each child and family that attends.

Develops character: Strongly agree

- a
Emmanuel Lutheran School definitely develops character in their students. The most amazing group of little people in an encouraging environment.

Teacher effectiveness: Strongly agree

- a
The teachers are amazing and the class sizes are small to provide each child with a great experience. The teachers make learning fun.

Amount of homework: Strongly disagree

- a
The homework is designed to be engaging and involve the parent to keep education at home and parents informed.

As far as the Pre-K, do not waste your money or time. The handbook is outdated (2010-2011), and some of the policies have been changed and never updated. Numerous issues with billing, even for their summer camp program. We were contacted about having a bill for the current semester that was not paid when it actually had been as well. Upon meeting with staff, we were told that someone had hacked into their computer system and messed up their billing!?! Too much money for them not to be on top of things. Teachers are nice but I don't think they get much support from the director.

- a
Excellent school with well educated teachers and staff who bring out the best in the students. Received national accredidation recently and continues to enhance the facilities and curriculum.
