I have been associated with the school for many years, and I would say that it used to be a wonderful public school filled with creative teachers. The staff has changed quite a bit in the last few years however. Also, I find that for lower socioeconomic students, it provides good support, but for students seeking an "experiential" education, very little of the old ways still apply. If you have an average to above average child, I would look elsewhere.
Parents, teachers, students and the entire community work hard each year to make this school a magical place to learn.. Outdoor gardens, a wood fired pizza oven for homemade pizza dinners bring the community together. A sound garden and nature trails add to the unique school grounds. Inside is a home away from home. My first grader loves his school and feels taken care of by is school family, from Ms. Carmen the bus driver to Ms. Kate the gardener to his teacher, Ms. Woods the thoughtful Principal and all the students. We are so fortunate and thankful for this dear, sweet school.
