This school is tiny, but does great, big things. I love the small community feel of this school and the fact that they keep up and surpass the larger surrounding schools!

This is a great school, however I feel there needs to be alot more academic programs, there is almost nothing for the kids to join. This is my daughters last year and my sons second year, all the teachers have been wonderful. Mr. Chandler is also a great principal.

Barnardsville Elementary is such a wonderful little community school! We are slowly becoming less of a community as of late, however. Our new principal is a really nice, cometpent individual. However, his ideas of how to run a small school are a little overwhelming. It feels like the school is on lockdown. It no longer feels like the little hometown school, but an innercity facility that you have to empty out your pockets and pass through a metal detector to get into. I wanted my child in this school because of the warm, homey feel that was there. It's such a small community that alot of the parents and teachers know each other well and that feeling used to be passed on to the children but now, the whole atmosphere has changed. I would like to see more extracurricular activities put into place.

When our principal, Mike Murray, announced that he would be leaving Barnardsville, my heart fell. He had been there for 3 of my children. I had one entering kindergarten at the time, my baby. I was assured that the principal to take Mike's position was excellent. I have found that to be true. Barnardsville is a wonderful school with a true, dedicated leader. Mr. Barbour has proven to be a caring principal who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to become part of the school family, yet assert his leadership effectively. I can't imagine that there is a better school in the county or in any state.
