BCHS is a excellent school. My oldest graduated from BCHS and is now in college and my youngest is a freshman. Great teachers, great extracurricular activities, and parent involvement. The school and community are one, and everyone is friendly and accepted. I came from one of the larger schools in Gaston County and even though I loved my high school experience, the school had many cliques, this is not an issue at BCHS. The school also has good discipline and is exceptionally clean, which means alot.

Amazing school, with good experiences. Maybe if the State gave out some more money, test scores would be higher. But even though we ever got new text books and had many broken and damaged areas, I wouldn't trade the experiences and lessons I learned there for any you could get at a big, 'rich' school.

I'm a former student and had good and bad experiences. All students are not treated equal! I never get help from the guidance counselors regarding college, only athletes and students from upper class families.

I love Bessemer City High. The teacher's are friendly and care for students. Some teachers like Ms. Dockery, Ms. Jones and Mr. Busshart are awesome. I am proud of my school and glad to be going to BCHS.

I like the small community atmosphere at BCHS. I think most of the parents get involved with their kids there. There's usually a great turn out at school events. If you want to get away from the large school atmosphere, BCHS is a good place to be! Everyone knows everyone.

Bessemer City Schools are very biased towards the race and financial status of students/parents. I would not recommend allowing a child to recieve his/her education in this school district. Curricculum is very limited and subjects (i.e history, sciences)are taught according to the teacher's personal point of view rather than encouraging students to research and make opinions of their own.

I really like the atmosphere at Bessemer City High School. The kids, teachers, and administrators are very helpful and friendly. I'm looking forward to having kids of my own and sending them to Bessemer City.
