I had 2of my four children attend Tryon Elementary School, it is one of the best schools any of my children have ever attended. The school is very clean, and everyone is so nice from the office to the custodian, lunchroom and teachers. We had awesome years at Tryon and still keep in touch with past teachers. I was sad to see the day we had to leave to go on to Middle School. My husband was in the military at one time so we have been to numerous schools, glad we ended up here at Tryon Elementary.

My son attends Tryon Elementary School. There is great communication from the school. We get weekly phone messages from the principal and more often if needed. The school counselor sends phone messages as well. There are always notes coming home in the book bags. School newsletters and class newsletters come come as well. I always know what is going on as long as I look in my son's bookbag !! The teachers seem to like it here and that is a positive note.

My daughter got a great education if you consider grate making kids do just the minimum to get by. She was completely unchallenged by the school ciriculum. What made this worse was she was an all A student and we raised her to speak up when she saw things that were wrong. This resulted in a great deal of bullying for her. I attempted to meet with the principle on several occaisions and while he is a nice person, I think he is very comfortable with the position and tries very hard to not make waves that may get noticed. In 5 years my daughter went through 4 years of bullying, all of which was reported to the school, but resulted in no actions against the ones doing the bullying. She has since moved on to higher grades levels from Tryon, but I would strongly suggest considering other options before settling in this school district.

This is my son's second year at Tryon. He is in the 5th grade and I wish he didnt have to leave next year for middle school. The staff is great. They always keep you informed of everything that is going on in the school. He had to leave school early because he was sick one day and his teacher called later to check on him. Thats rare. GREAT school!!!

The principal has no idea what is going on with this school or the staff.I am very disappointed in this school i dont feel my children are not in good hands. I wish i could put them in another school but we are stuck in this district. If you dont have to put your child in this school then dont find another one.

I have a grand daughter attending Tryon. I'm impressed with the things they do to reward the students for a job well done. They seem to reward each child for something whether it be something big or small. No child is left out. The better the child performs, the larger the reward.
