TRCS can be the right school for some students. They promote diversity and environmentalism & have a strong community spirit. Many teachers are very dedicated & truly love children. Above aver. & EC kids are well served. Low stress environment on academics. In 2011, I pulled my child from TRCS after several years because the "classroom freedom" was too distracting to my child. Students got up & blurt out at random. This is true for all K-5 classes. The EC teachers are great but the student body has high% of students w/ IEP. Those students struggling only a little don't get enough 1-on-1 attention to reach full potential. The K-2 teachers have a 'wait-&-see' approach to slight learning difficulties that lessen stress but also overlook potential LDs. They are willing to accommodate students but TRCS is not a Title I school and cannot provide daily interventions to non-EC kids w/ learning problems. TRCS has seen a great deal of employee turnover with many beginning administrators and faculty. The most recent principal stabilized TRCS and put important policies in place. The challenging physical space has greatly approved.

I feel that it is a school that presents an education that better prepares my children to continue critical thinking skills needed later in life as well as fostering a love of learning.

Two Rivers COMMUNITY School is just that. . . a community of Kindergarten through 8th grade students and staff who love and care for each other. NO doubt about it, I was made for this school and the school was made for me to teach at.

This is a great school. My son is very happy here. It has small class sizes, lots of hands on activities, plenty of outdoor time and flexibility dealing with each individual students needs.

I am a founding parent of Two Rivers Community School. This school is part of my family and I want to give them all the help I can. We started this school with a mindset to be a little different than the usual public school and to involve our community and the world around us as a part of our learning experience. From attending the great and wonderful Bufflo Camp, that all the children look forward to every year from the time they are in the third grade, to the little gardens the kids plant, to the wonderful group os ASU students that come to the school and give our kids a great dose of art and music and even the people that live and work right in the area that have helped us out over the past 5 years. This school truely displays this from the wonderful E.C. teaching group to the standard teaching group, the staff, PTO and parent volunteers are outstanding! We have a great team and they really deserve this. I really do love Two rivers Community School. I am super proud to be a part of something so fantastic! This is what life is all about!

Children are treated with respect, allowed adequate to get outside and play. Expedition learning increases ability to put to use the information taught in all classes. Resources are very limited, but dedication to what is right for our children (parents, teachers and students) makes this work. It would be so wonderful if there were playground and gym equipment available...but as we all know, equipment is very expensive. The role of innovation and utilizing the resources available is a prominent part of daily life at Two Rivers Community School. We just could not have a better principal or staff. I am very grateful.
