Countryside is an amazing school. The lead teachers are all certified in Montessori education. They truly care about the individual children. My child can freely move ahead academically in the classroom. The individual choices are endless and engaging. Multi age classrooms work wonderfully to foster mentoring in the class.

This is a great school and my daughter is very happy there. The curriculum is diverse, and both the activities and the pace are tailored to the needs of individual students. It has a very inclusive atmosphere (and a better diversity profile than any of 6 other private schools in Charlotte that I have looked into). The teachers are professional, attentive and kind, and the atmosphere they create is very conducive to learning and to students interactions. They emphasize independence and self-motivation which is a great tool equipping students for life-long learning. Efficiency of most pedagogic approaches adopted from the original Montessori method used in this school, has been supported by modern research. At the same time, I appreciate the fact that the teachers do not treat Montessori method as written in stone. There is art, pretend-play, fairy tales and fantasy in the classroom in addition to all the thing Montessori - overall, all the ingredients of a healthy and productive educational experience.

There is some sort of "Discrimination" going on in this school. No child should have his or her educational opportunities limited because of race. School is supposed to be the place of freedom--not a place where arcane bureaucratic rules and outdated theories of education reign supreme. The administration and staff should keep a close eye on any prejeduice behaviour and be there whole heartedly to curb it and reject it . Because of all these discriminatory practices our kids used to go to Countryside Montessori !!!! Not any more.

Diverse educational environment that promotes citizenship along with academics. Students are treated with respect and given the tools necessary to master higher levels of education along with a level of responsibility and maturity unsurpassed by any educational environment I've ever encountered. Countryside faculty are committed to student achievement and show true enthusiasm for students success. Countryside students graduate prepared academically and socially for life. Having two children attend Countryside for 8+ years, we are very happy !

We love this school. All of our kids began as toddlers and have moved up in the program. Because of the small classes and excellent teachers, the school caught an eye problem my daughter had that had been missed by doctors originally!

My son has thrived in this school. Teachers care about students, students like to learn in the environment. Children at this school are content, well spoken and not afraid of adults.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
