Like a lot of smaller private schools, the child's experience is defined by his/her teacher. A good teacher makes for a fulfilling experience while a bad/disinterested/inexperienced teacher makes for a more challenging experience. Here your luck with teachers is hit or miss. The school has some good teachers but turnover rate is high. It also has its share of not so good teachers. You really need to know who the teacher will be to know what kind of experience to expect. Unfortunately, the administration is fairly weak and cannot overcome most of the challenges when there is a bad teacher except to replace him/her at the end of the year. School culture is great. QAIS is an emphasis but if you have a child that is advanced in these areas then they may not benefit much. The school has made steady improvement and hopefully each year the staff and administration will improve.
This school is fantastic. It's really made a lot of positive changes in the past few years. I can't believe someone said the tuition is expensive. That's daycare money. Other private schools cost 10 and 15 times the tuition here. The teachers are great, and the program is very well run.
My son goes to this school, it was very important to me for him to be around other muslims, I have to say I like his teacher, shes very friendly, thats the positive, but I find her assistant VerY impatient with the children, and you never feel they have time to talk to you. Other problems include1) it is very disorganized overall 2) tuition is fairly expensive, and yet it does NOT include meals, any school shirts, books, snacks, etc., 3)A lot of the teachers are bordering on being rude,=(you dont feel the islamic adhaab you wouldl expect) 4)they dont contact you (after saying they will) with info you request, but they DEFinately call you if there is any question about the billing, 5) you have to wait in a long car line to pick up kids, not allowed to just go in and get them, can take up to 15 mins.6) it is not what I was expecting from an islamic school...especially a private paid for islamic school. I do like that the kids learn quran and arabic, and that there is diversity, but next year I will see if there is any other option, and Inshallah I will find somthing I feel more pleased with
I have to say that the person who wrote all of the staff are Moroccan is completely incorrect and is spreading falsehood. This person needs to actually come by the school and check it out! Anyone can see that the staff is very diverse and very friendly. Get your facts straight!
Charlotte Islamic Academy is great Islamic school my son have been at the Academy sicnce he was in kindergarten hes's in 2nd. Grade this year, Alhamdullah i am very pleased with the school, my son has been learning the NC curriculum and he has been learning his Quran, Islamic studies and Arabic, i am very thankful to Allah first, then to the people who founded this great school in the Charlotte area, and of course huge thank you for all teachers, faculty and everyone who works there or volunteer at the school. Jazzakum Allah Khair
If you would like to put your child in an Islamic environment this would be the school for you. The school mission is "To educate and inspire students in an Islamic environment to excel in a diverse society." Also they got voted the best school in Charlotte by the Missionaries.....
I think the school did not deserve such rating non of the staff are licensed most of them still attending school . there are no extracullicular activities .Most teachers are morrocan because the principal is morrocan too .some teachers are excellent but the administarion is poor . I tried to register my son last year non of the administration would care to give me a tour or call me to ask if I;m still interested . Though this is the only Islamic school in charlotte area it suppose to have more proffesional staff and administration .
My child will be going to this school and it is absolutely great. I am glad three of my children will be attending next year. Staff and admistration are wonderful. I can not wait till next school year.
