My two children are enrolled in elementary classrooms. They have been at TMS for the last four years and have been thriving. They are hard-working, independent, and they LOVE school. Their math and language skills are outstanding, and this comes from the Montessori method of first teaching concretely, and then abstractly, at the pace of the individual child. Both children's teachers address social skills as well as their excellent academics. My children are courteous and kind, because it is modeled at school by their teachers and classmates, and they have skills to identify and stand up to social injustice. The school asks for parent volunteer hours, which I love, because it gets me involved, allows me to get to know their teachers more, as well as the administration and other parents! The resource teachers are excellent, with small group lessons in Spanish, a great variety of activities in PE, and an amazing art teacher who connects the children's art to the work they are doing in the classroom. During recess they play in the large treehouse, build forts in the wooded area, play organized sports, and work in the vegetable gardens. I could not be happier with this school.
