My child has attended this school for 4 years. He loves the school, teachers and other students. Students are awarded for their hard work and the teachers are awesome!

I have a student who has been at Coats since the start and we love it! I have been so please that the teachers were willing to keep my Academically Gifted child challenged. I have always been impressed at the parent involvement, even those that dont have English as a first language are so supportive of their children. Great School!

This school has been better than the previous 2 my son has attended in NC. But that is not a compliment. My son is in the highest level spelling group they have and is still bored to death with the choice of words. Earlier. This year the was a school bus accident and the principal did not think it was necessary to call the parents. I was informed about the accident via a letter at the end of the day. If your thinking of moving to this district run as fast as you can away from here!!

I have found this school confusing in their regards to rules that are enforced at the start of the school year, yet are disregarded at year's end. Children's homework is not corrected to point out spelling errors or alike. I realize it's great to let a child's imagination create great stories, but wouldn't it also be great if at least the spelling gets corrected. I find it odd that on the first awards presentation, the school auditorium is packed w/ students and parents alike, but by the end, it's the reverse. I would also like the school to teach not what's on the END OF GRADE TESTS solely. I support the tests, but I do not support teaching just for the tests. I realize budget cuts are the name of the game now, but so is staffing a school that supports the entire educational system from nutritional to nursing.
