Cox Mill Elementary really cares about the student as a whole. The teachers and staff go out of their way to make sure my children (3) are being taught both academic and social lessons. My children feel appreciated for their differences and valued as individuals. The school is a safe, clean, family friendly environment.

We moved to North Carolina 3 yrs ago when my daughter was in 3rd grade she began classes at Cox Mill. The transition for her was wonderful. We thought that she would have a hard time making friends and adjusting to the curriculum; but she fit right in. The teachers are really helpful and the administration approachable. We are looking to move again, because we are in an apartment, but my daughter insist that she remain at Cox Mill and we are pleased to be able to honor her wishes. Thank you to all of the staff at Cox Mill Elementary

About the tests

In 2011-2012 North Carolina used End-of-Grade (EOG) tests to assess students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in reading and math, and grades 5, 8, and 10 in science. The EOG is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of North Carolina. Students must pass the grade 8 EOG test in order to graduate from high school. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level on the tests.
