I have several sons that have gone through this school. I have seen many changes from the low quality leadership in the school to them getting the laptops. It is a wonder my children can read and write! They know how to use the crazy abbreviations since they were on Skype and facebook. Lets not forget that they were told they could get other classes on line since SGHS is so very limited. The sports program is one of the worst I have ever seen, they can't keep good coaches as they move on to greener pastures. If you are looking for a good high school...keep going. Don't get locked in like I did by buying a place here in this school district.

This institution is a horrible learning environment filled with bad teachers and students. I (a student at SG) would not recommend your child to go to this school.

It's a poor but good school with excellent teachers, good students, and new laptops for all students!

The EOG is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of North Carolina. Students must pass the grade 8 EOG test in order to graduate from high school. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level on the tests.
