Do you have Ms BC Davis(drama teacher) arrangements? There are alot of people that would love to get the arrangements and can't seem to find them. Thank you Rachel K whaley class of 1981.
The school is amazingly comforting and came make anyone feel at home. Plus we hardly have any disapline promblems
South Lenoir High School is a very interesting school. I have had four children go through and my husband also attended. It has changed so very much through the years. I would have to say I don't agree with some of the rules that they have and some of the way they do things.
i hate South Lenior with a passion, its filled with racist teachers and they dont really seek to help students just get them off their hands, by suspending them.
South Lenoir has been a great school for me and has been a great learning environment, the academic programs are excellent. There are plenty of extra curricular activities rather its sports or drama or art, I think any one could find a place at this school. Parent involvement is great also you will always find volunteers helping in some way. I'm glad I got to be a Blue Devil
The school, unfortunately, is located in a county where funds are very low. Certain programs that would allow the students more career opportunities aren't available. One, in particular, is a JROTC program. Why the county won't 'find' the funds for this program is sad. I'm the parent of a South Lenoir student who wants to pursue a career in the military, and unfortunately, she doesn't have the opportunity to prepare herself for this. It's truly a shame. If this program was in place, and she took 4 years of it, she would be making a minimum of $400.00 more per month, at the entry level. What's a parent to do, besides move? We all want the best for our kids.
I have taught at SLHS for four years now. I must say it is a truly remarkable place that offers a nurturing, family atmosphere to students. We are always striving to improve our class offerings, but I do believe that most students here feel safe and enjoy being here.
