This is school needs to go. It's not a great school for children. The teachers don't care about the school. The have no discipline for the children at all. My daughter shouldn't have classes with 20 and 19 yr old! Honestly this school should be shut down. The students take pride in being delinquents. And the teachers condone it. My child is overwhelmed by going there. It's hard being a freshmen there. It hard for her to learn while others students are singing dirty and nasty rap and cursing down the halls. And the teachers do nothing about this. Some girls are pregnant and the clothing is very short. I think this isn't a good environment for a child or teen at all.

DPLC literally kept my grandson from dropping out of school. He did not thrive in a traditional school setting his freshman year. At first I was skeptical, but soon realized that sending him to DPLC was a good decision. The student teacher ratio is great and the teachers seemed to be more interested in helping the student succeed. They did not try to fit my grandson into the "curve" or a square peg into a circle, but diligently worked with him to learn despite his differences. His advisor was the best! She stayed the course with him for the two years that she advised him and kept me updated regarding his progress. He will be a junior this year and I hope that things will go as well this year as they did last year. Thanks DPLC and to all those who played a part in helping my grandson to succeed the past two years he has been at your school.

Durham Performance Learning Center is a unique non-traditional high school that offers the same academics your child would receive in traditional high school. The virtual high school setting has allowed my son to move at his own pace and build the confidence and self esteem. DPLC have capable, committed educators that share in the determination to see your student and all students at DPLC succeed. The students at DPLC are respectful of one another and act as mentors supporting their fellow peers that are underclassmen. The school operates with a business mindset, therefore the students are expected to dress in shirt, ties and slacks to further prepare them for the business world. The Principal and his staff have done an excellent job making this a school to watch for. Truly making a difference - DPLC,
