Wonderful, nurturing environment. My sons loved going there every day, came in smiling and came home smiling ... singing ... counting ... in French!

My son attended the Spanish immersion program from age 2 1/2 years starting when he was 3 years old until we moved across the county. I can't say enough great things about this school. I chose it for the language immersion, but having now braved another school, I realize how amazing the teachers (especially the male Spanish preschool teacher), staff, and Montessori approach is. The school has a diverse range of students and an intimate feel and I always felt as though our concerns were addressed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this school!

IMS is an amazing school. I've never seen a school that gives so much energy and attention to every child to make sure that their individual needs are met. The combination of Montessori curriculum and immersion is truly a novel idea and it works phenomenally.

We have two daughters at IMS, one in La Maison and one in French Elementary. We are incredibly happy with IMS, my children love to go to school each day. Their French is really strong and the education they are receiving is wonderful. We plan on staying at IMS long term. M.F

We first joined IMS when our first child turned 3 and we were really just looking for PreK school and loved the Spanish immersion. We have now been there for 5 years and have our two children enrolled full time. The school has provided an excellent Spanish language education for our children. We have also found an incredibly diverse, respectful, warm and loving community. The school started small but with an incredibly dedicated cadre of parents, teachers and administrators the school is growing quickly. Most importantly, my children are happy and are so excited to learn. I recommend IMS for families looking to for their children to become truly global citizens, who love learning and who are happy and well balanced individuals.

We have had two boys at IMS for five years now. From our experience, the school has been the best thing we could have done for their education and for their personal development. IMS is one of the few schools in the country that offer the combination of private instruction, montessori teaching methods and language immersion (80%-90% of instruction is in second language). Both children are now fully bilingual and enjoy art, science, building/construction and biology and can express themselves in two languages. We feel that "love of learning" is a direct result of the Montessori method and the quality of their education. We have noted that they have a keen emotional awareness and are aware of different cultures and languages in our family travels. My wife and I have developed close, personal relationships with the administration and teachers and feel they are dedicated to their craft and the best in the Triangle. If anyone is interested in the school, I would recommend visiting to see if it fits your needs. Montessori teaching methods and immersion language may not be for everyone and every child, but in our experience it has been life changing for our family.

The school has an intimate and cozy feel. We have two children who have been there for several years now. They are really thriving, learning at a high level in two languages and are socially outgoing and confident. Teachers and leadership are very responsive to parental input.

A smart pediatrician once recommended when you're choosing a school for your child, choose one where YOU would like to hang out for 6 hours a day. This advice has never steered us wrong, and IMS fully represents all that we look for in a primary school. Our children both have attended, starting in the Pre-K, and we can honestly say that the teachers and staff feel like an extension of our family. The warmth and caring of the teachers combined with the rich culture of the Montessori method of Peace Education create an atmosphere in which children feel safe and supported as they learn. We have had the pleasure of watching our children learn to love learning -- and there is no greater gift. And the fact that our children are fluent in a second language is the icing on the cake!
