The reason some of the rules are established at Berean is because it is a Christian school. They expect the young women and young men to dress conservatively to represent the school in a positive manner. My daughter attended there for 5 years and wouldn't trade the experience for the world. The teachers were teachers but also friends to the students.
I believe this is a school that strives for excellence in each area of my children's lives - spiritually, academically, socially, and extracurricularly. My children have been attending since 2001 and I appreciate the school's standards and atmosphere. I want an environment that will support what my family teaches at home. The love and devotion that is shown by every staff and faculty member is extraordinary. They balance discipline with love, and I respect that they are impartial in keeping their policies and maintaining their rules. The academic excellence and high test scores are also a strength. We are thankful for this school.
This school was a huge disappointment. My daughter went there from 6th through the 10th grade. She was miserable. The teachers were uptight and so worried about what they looked like on the outside(having two buttons buttoned on their polo shirts and if not detention)and not the inside. They treat the High Schoolers like they are little kids. They do not give them the freedom that teenagers need. The rules are so ludacris(ex. They are not to attend any movies that are rated pg-13 or R and they may not attend any 'rock' concerts.)
This is a great school. Both my boys have atteneded Berean for 7 years and we have had good experinces year after year. I would highly recommend the school.
The staff and teachers are excellent. They genuinely care. It is an excellent Christian environment. The school offers alot for the kids and is challenging. It is hard to find this combination these days.
