I am a student of 71st classical but it isn't that much fun here but they have very different eletives here.
BEST middle school in Cumberland Co. hands down!!! My daughter is going to 7th grade this year and she loves going to school!! It really makes life at home a little easier knowing your kid loves school and they are getting the best education in Cumberland Co. Super School all the way around.
My child is attending 7th grade this year at 71ST Classical Middle .She had a great 6 grade year there last year. The teachers are very focused and love to teach. My child is challenged by the work and excited about starting back this week.
This school is focused on education. It's sad that my first assessment is this but children are held to high standards here and they excel. This is an application only school of choice and parents must drive their kids to and from school unless they live in the poorest of Fayetteville neighborhoods. This school is full of students from every socioeconomic level but the they come from families that care about education. The teachers are tough but the A-B honor roll takes up nearly the entire grade every quarter. This school doesn't allow sports but does have academic clubs such as Science Olympiad and Battle of the Books. You'll have to do sports through Fayetteville Parks and Recreation. If your child did well in elementary school and you want him to be challenged then apply for 71st. This is not a school for the academically challenged trouble maker.
71st Classical is an outstanding school, dedicated to the future of its students. You can tell the teachers care tremendously about their students. Luckily, they are light on homework and give a lot of long term assignments.
The teachers at this school are top notch. They really care about their students and work above and beyond the call of duty. I'm sure the ONE disgruntled parent on this site had a child that either totally misbehaved, or just wasn't willing to do the work desired.
This school only caters to its sucessful students. The teachers do not know how to teach students with any difficulties. I couldn't stand it at that school one more day. I had to fight to get my child out. My child entered that school with a low B high C average, after one 9 weeks all C's and D's.
I couldn't be any happier with 71st Classical. I have two children that attend. Learning is the priority at this school. Having teachers that have been with this school for 10 and 15 years gives them pride in their jobs and they pass that on to their students. Great School.
The Seventy First Classical Middle School in Fayetteville, North Carolina stands head and shoulders above all the schools I've seen in the area of Science, Math and Reading. Your teaching staff are to be commended for an excellent job of mentoring these young people to excel above and beyond their peers. I've had the opportunity to attend Science Fairs, Spelling Bees, Accelerated Reading competition and am always impressed that the children retain this knowledge with little or no effort. This speaks volumes for your staff and the State Of North Carolina to maintain teachers who will not take nothing less than the best. I pray for continued success.
I attended 71st all three years of middle school. I loved it there! Although the dress code was a hassle, it was a great thing to have. I was extremely prepared for high school and was actually very far ahead of other students who didn't go to 71st. The staff there was great. I was out of school for half of the year when I was in the 8th grade due to severe medical problems. The whole staff was great about making me feel missed and making sure I was getting caught up. I recieved tons of cards from my classes and one big one from the whole 8th grade class. 71st is definitely a place to send your child if they are serious about school like I was. It not only prepares them for high school, but for college as well.
