We are EXTREMELY PLEASED with my son's school, (Loyd E. Auman Elementary School) a BIG thanks and KUDOS goes to the exceptional children teachers( Mrs. Jacobs and Mr. Howard) for their hard work, time and effort with assuring our special needs / exceptional children get the direction, education, love and understanding that is required in order for them to be great achievers . Our son entered the class just this year. We truly can say that our son is exceeding in every angle possible thanks to the teacher and us the parents working together as a team to meet that mutual goal. Also, we would like to say we appreciate the admin staff, and everyone that makes up this GREAT School.

I am extremely disappointed with my son's teacher. He is special needs. The teacher told me how bad he was on several occasions and with other kids in the room and in front of him. Once he gets a red start there is no chance to gain back a green star. Very discouraging for a child! We are in the process of trying to remove him. My son came home with bruises on his face and body because of a theraputic hold and teacher denies this and also that she administered it even though her assistant said that she was infact doing it. When we went to the princepal the next day and asked for documents about the bruises she told us to have our attorneys subpoena school for them. I could go on and on about this, we are extremely unhappy. She might have won several awards but she has only shown us how unprofessional she really is. However, Mrs Mildred at the front desk and Mrs Barefoot are the nicest ladies I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Wish there were more people like them on this planet!

The principal is wonderful, my son's teacher is great. They are far superior to his other 'high quality' school. My son is being taught well, learning how to be a great citizen and he is in a safe environment where they love him and take great care of his medical issues. I couldn't ask for a better school.

This will be my kids' third year at Loyd E. Auman, and I wish it was the last one too! The school has failed to meet the minimum standards for the state in reading two years in a row. They ask for materials that are never used. Teachers request brand candies that is never given back to the children. During school activities, children are allowed to listen to music not appropiate for elementary school children. As a parent that cares about my children's education I could never recommend Loyd E. Auman to anyone. Only parents that would be satisfied with it, would be ones who's child used to get bad grades at a previous school and now because of Loyd E Auman's low standards they get passing and/or good grades. Wish I had more space!

This is a wonderful school I have three boys and the older one graduated from Loyd Auman the other two are still attending. The teachers are friendly and the Principal is very involved in the childrens education. Their open door policy is wonderful. If you ever need to see a teacher they make appointments around your schedule. My children are very well taught and I always recommend Loyd Auman to anyone that ask me about the school. I give Loyd Auman a 100%.

This is a wonderful school with the focus on academics. I am really pleased with the job that the teachers have done with my child. I highly recommend this school. My child struggled with learning in some areas and the teachers at Loyd Auman have gone above and beyond to help him. Great Job Loyd Auman!

My son finished 5th grade 2005. The school was rather lacking when it came to academic focus. 'Pleasant teachers does not mean there is good teaching' is the thing to remember. Parent involvment sometimes even seemed discouraged, and principal was very visible and made a point to know the childrens names. Special needs children were often overlooked in their educational needs. Children in the classrooms often used inappropriate language and behavior and it seemed that most teachers only turned there heads, and commented 'there is nothing we can do, if we send them all to the office every day, then there would be very few left to even teach' Organization was an issue for the classrooms and teachers we experienced, and when speaking with other parents this was something mentioned alot. Missing home work, and lack of return communication from teachers was always a problem. If your child attends, stay involved!

I have 2 children attending Loyd Auman. It is a very safe and friendly environment. The staff takes time to get to know your children. There is a new principal this year--so far she has been great!! Very Professional!
