I go to this school and I like it. The classes are challenging and most teachers will assist you if you need help. The principal is a good guy, and many extracurricular activities are available to students. FTS is the best academic school in the county, and overall it is very good.
Principal is a wonderful man who cares about his students. Without a doubt, the best school in the county. The implementation of Global Studies has made it even better.
The faculty of this school are very caring and work to help every child succeed. It continually recieves the highest scores in the county on standardized tests. The overwhelming majority of students go on to post secondary institutions and its Global Studies program is highly esteemed in the region. Terry Sanford maintains a quality school environment that provides a rigorous academic program and offers many extracurricular opportunities.
If stereotyping, targeting and discrimination meets your criteria for good education then this is your school. Maybe after all the complaints we made to the board of education has brought about change but with the same administration personnel in place we very seriously doubt it. If you have a problem like this with Terry Sanford please go to the board and make them aware of what is going on. If it happened to us then it can happen to you.
Principal not supportive of nontraditional athletes. Very difficult to talk with noncomprimising with situations. Generally autocratic. Looking for new school for my child due to the principal.
This school offers Global Studies Curriculum in a 'school within a school.' Three Morehead winners in two years. Principal is caring and disciplined.
FTS has the ability to be one of the best schools in the state, but it is extremely over-crowded and it has little room to expand because it is located on a plot of land in an area of town where land is expensive. It is a typical 'Catch 22' in that people tend to chose this area of town because of the school.
