I think that the staff do everything in there power to help our children get the best education they can give them. The bilding needs work but they are doing there best to fix as much as they can with what littel budget they do get.

I love this school. Teachers are great with the kids. I have a student that is advanced and one that needs extra help. Both of their needs are being met.

Both my daughters love Butner. The teachers are good adn care alot about the children. I am diappointed because when they have actitives for the children they don't want younger siblings there which is hard for parents who are single parents when their spouses are gone. It would be nice to involve all the parents and younger siblings together in activites.

Butner's teachers are very dedicated to the children the teach. I felt like the principle was a little distant. From the conversations I have had with other parents, a general feeling that we get is that we are always being asked for money. Alot of us have come from other schools on base and were never asked to spend as much as we do at Butler for the activities and it seems the other schools offered more activities for the kids. And, for the record, it is not that the parents won't come and support their children for the family nights....alot of parents work at night or have other obligations. Some of the parents were more than likely turned off by the fact that we were told to not bring our younger children to the school with us. Not everyone can afford daycare, and the free drop-in service is full alot.

Butner has excellent teachers who are very proud to teach our heroes' children! We strive everyday to find ways to nurture and build the minds of our students. The only part missing is the involvement of parents to create a strong partnership in educating our children. We attempt to have family nights at our school, but participation is low and teachers would love to know why parents won't come to support their children. We are definitely open to suggestions.

I am new to Butner and very disappointed. I do not feel welcome in the building and I have always been an active volunteer.

My three children have only gone to Butner Ele. up to this point. We are finally moving and we are sad to leave this great school. Between my three kids we attended there for 7 years. I love most of the teachers. I wasn't very crazy for the principal. She could have done more activities for the children. They dedicate a whole week for Teachers appreciation week but have taken a lot of the activities for the kids away. Kids are kids for a very short part of their life and we should help them enjoy it along with learning.

Butner Elem. is a wonderful school. My son has been very fortunate to have had such wonderful teachers. They are kind but very disciplined. Parent involvement however is not so great. Both PTA meetings I've attended have had less than 30 parents (including the parents that run the PTA). I was very disappointed to see the lack of parental support. Overall, I think Butner is a great school with an excellent principals.
