Murray is a great school with outstanding teachers, principal, and administrative staff. It was obvious that they cared greatly for the children that attended their school. They welcomed and facilitated parents volunteering. It is a safe school.
My son attended this school for 3rd and 4th grade and let me tell you, I miss this school. The staff and the teachers are AMAZING! The school is amazing. We surely miss Murray and this school would be the reason we'd move back to Bragg. If you have a choice in school on post, Murray is the place :)
From the principal, to the teachers and staff everyone dedicates themselves selflessly to the needs of our military children and families.
The teachers are amazing and caring. And our PTO rocks!! It makes parents want to get involved!
Words fail when it comes to describing the staff at Murray Elem. They are above standards and within a few short years had test scores go from an all time low to the top in the area. Mr. Council is a great principal and really knows how to get the staff motivated and ensures that things run smooth so as to best suite the needs of its children. As a school who only hosts militay children, it takes a little extra to know that many of these childrens only sense of stability is at school, Murray lives up the the challenge and does it well. The children who are in a constant state of change with moves, TDY's, and deployments, I am greatful to have them attending a school as wonderful as Murray. When we leave in a few short weeks :( We wil surely miss the staff!
I cannot say enough about the teachers and staff of Murray- they cater to a very unique demographic- America's smallest heroes- the children of our brave soldiers. With one or both parents gone, these children go through alot- one thing they can always depend is their Murray family.
I must agree with everyone who has said how wonderful Mr. Council and the entire staff is at Murray. It is a very friendly, inviting school and my children have loved it. I have recently moved off post, and I know my children will miss attending next year.
When I moved here from GA, I was a little worried about my kids education. They were changing schools in the middle of the year and I did not want them to get confused or lost. Once they got to Murray, transition was easy. Mr. Council is an excellent principal and the staff is very caring and wonderful. I recently lost my husband in Iraq and it was really difficult for me the first few weeks. The school offered to help out in everyway and was very understanding when my kids missed a few days. They helped and even got the 'Patriot Riders' to honor my husband at a flag ceremony. I am so grateful for them and my kids are growing and learning so much. I am sad that I will have to leave. I love them all and will miss them.
Ever since Mr Council has taken over this school, it has been great. The teachers have always been wonderful, but Mr Council definately makes sure the school runs smoothly. I am sad that when we made our move from one house on post to another that we were forced to change to Butner. Murray has a very family friendly atmosphere. They want you to come in and volunteer, even if it means you tote in little ones behind you. I really miss this school for my child.
My son has gone through K and 1st grade here. I must say that you really can not judge a book by its cover. Although, modest looking this school is amazing. Mr Council is a very sweet, caring rinciple and the teachers are really top notch ! I am so sad that we will be leaving soon and can only hope that we will have the same luck in our next school.
