One of if not the worst school in garner . The teachers themselves are I am sure doing their best but the administrative staff are useless.Poor test results overall poor student performance and poor leadership.
This school is a great one! Many of the poor reviews are outdated (some dating back over 5 yrs ago!), and since my son has been enrolled I have yet to experience any issues. The staff, teachers, principle, and volunteers are all very kind, helpful, and courteous. If i have ever had a question, it was answered honestly and accurately. The best part about the school is there smooth running systems for keeping track of students and transitioning them from school to their bus or parent's vehicle. My son loves his teacher, and is more than excelling as a student. They push positive attitudes and safety protocols in fun, productive ways that the children enjoy. My son even schools me on a few sometimes! Overall, GREAT school. Give it a chance!
My daughter shows great improvement on her academics. Her reading comprehension develops, Her vocabulary words significantly improve. Her ability to understand numbers and charts and solve problem demonstrate Creech Road Elementary school academic system works. Thanks to her teacher Ms. Barton and to all staffs of Creech Road Elem. School for their hard work and make Creech Road a good place to learn.
If the former principal was still in charge (Dr. B.), I would have rated Creech Road a 5. This school's problems are caused by the county, not the administration and staff. The school has made significant growth in the last few years, under Dr. B's leadership. It is too bad she wasn't able to see her vision through.
This is my children first year at Creech Road. They came from a magnet school as their base school but were reassigned to a year around school. Creech Road was the closest school to us on a traditional calendar. Thus far I'm pleased. Incident on bus was handled promptly by Ms. Ellington. Incident w/my 3rd grader and another student was handled appropriately again by Ms. Ellington. Son in 1st grade, but feel it's not quite as challenging for him. I am pleased thus far 11/27/07 with the school and its new principal, Ms. B. A pleased parent
My child just completed his kindergarten year and I was impressed with the level of commitment of his teachers, the principal and many of the staff. I agree that they are caring teachers restricted by budgetary constraints and challenged by a student population with widely varying needs. I do think the child's experience is teacher-dependent. We have had an excellent experience and our child's teachers have been committed to fostering his continued growth. Although my husband has also observed some teachers who have appeared 'burned out'. We as parents also need to take responsibility - Creech has one of the lowest parent participation in PTA that I have ever encountered - I believe it was 6 in 2004-2005, and is somewhat improved this year. It is amazing the disparity amongst schools in the same county in terms of resources and monetary support!!!! I have great respect for the staff!
Caring teachers who are handicaped by budget restrictions. Overcrowded but a great atmosphear for learning. Mr. Overman is an exceptional pricipal as well as Mrs. Ellington.
I will highly recommend you to NOT send your child to Creech Road Elementary. If you do your child will learn that you cannot tell the teachers when a kid is hitting you.You will be sent to a corner to talk it out or be called a tatal tell. Not sent to daycare bus on time.If you were to have an accident. You will be made to stand beside your chair (while the other kids make fun of you)till the bell rings. No one will call you if your child does or if the child is sick.I f they have asthma or a broken leg they still have to run around the track. Even if you send a doctors note.I have personally told the prin. about this and he does nothing about it.This is my reason for recommending you to not send your child to Creech Road Ele..
I think that parents sometimes send their children to school and expect the teachers and administrators to work miracles. I have had a wonderful experience with my children attending Creech Road. I have had two children graduate from Creech Road and are in AG classes in middle school. They scored high on EOG tests while attending Creech Road. I currently have two children that attend Creech Road. My daughter was in the third grade this past school year and was really stressing about the EOG test. She had support from her teacher, myself and my husband. In the end she scored really well on her EOG test. Before we are quick to be so critical of the school and administration, we need to check ourselves.
I would not recommend sending your child to Creech Road Elementary school. The quality of academic programming is less than desirable; little concern shown for progress of children. Teachers pass along instructions and it is left up to the parent to teach skills. The potential of our child seemed largely ignored, therefore his potential was never reached at Creech. Teachers were not responsive to my e-mails, notes, etc. Much effort went into establishing rapport with teachers... information was not passed along in a way that promoted growth of the child. Before and After School programs are useless... children ran absolutely wild and there is no structure. We have been unable to transfer our child to another school so I had to move out of the district. Unfortunately, we had three years of experience at Creech and I was mostly disgusted and very dissatisfied with leadership.
