Terrible school. Son has been bullied from day one. Kids wear pants that sag even though school policy says they shouldn't but no one re-inforces it. Teachers are nice but students are the worse I've ever seen in any public school probably due to lack of parental control and maybe they come from single parent home where no discipline is established.

The teachers here are nice but strict. They really care about the students. Especially Ms. Yarn and Ms. Gore. They are excellent. I am a straight A student and this school is great.

I agree. I am very involved in the school and also feel that the teachers and staff go above and beyond their call of service. Our kids are in a very safe environment and being taught not only core classes but respect as well. I give an A+ to this school!

I feel that this school does an excellent job. I feel too many people are quick to point fingers when they aren't even involved. This school is very good and they teach our children, keep them safe and follow up with parents in a very timely manner. Most of the staff that I have met have nothing but our childrens best interest in mind!

It is extremly hard to learn in a enviroment like NGMS. Alot of the students don't appear to care about their grades or behavoir. I am a straight A student and need mare challenges. The teachers seem to think that assiging a higher volume of work is 'chalenging' but it only challenges my and my parents to plan our schedules around the homework. I am trying to convince my parnets to send me to a school with students who care about acdemics and their behavoir.

I think this is a great school. the work is not too easy, but not too hard either. The teachers are great and I love it.

Some teachers are nice but it's so easy it's not funny. I am a total straight A student and practically fall asleep in class. I dislike it being more of an athletic school than focusing on academics. Lots of kids curse and have horrible attitudes. If you think North Garner is a good school think again. NGMS ?!(*puke*)

My oldest daughter was re-assigned to NGMS for 7th grade. It was a huge difference from her old school. She was a B,C,D student with tons of homework. She now is on the AB honor roll with 10 min.of homework a few nights a week. These things do not change overnight. At the old school she had big projects that included on-line research. She had 1 project in the 7th grade. She said she has no homework because they complete it in class? Shouldn't the teachers use that time to teach? In the 8th grade, she brings home C's & D's again. Not 1 teacher contacted us with any concern. Our e-mails to them were met with defensiveness & lack of concern. I haven't found 1 person to be helpful with any issue (stolen I-Pod & yearbook, communicating with teachers). My younger daughter will attend this school over my dead body.

My child is in the 7th grade at NGMS and he really likes the school and his classmates. He is in compacted math so I am not sure why the other reviewer said that this is not offered. He is in AG courses and we are pleased with his teachers. I was apprehensive when we were first assigned to NGMS last year because of negative reviews but I think the school has really improved under the direction of Dr. Wall. He and the other administrators care about the students and have been open and responsive to my questions/concerns. All middle schoolers have some behavioral issues due to their age, maturity and need to socialize but the blame for bad behavior needs to be addressed by the parents. We have not had any problems in my son's classes and he is doing very well.
