Disappointed that the school keeps missing national standards. I may look at having my child go to Vandora or Aversboro as they consistently meet the standards.

Hasnt met standards 5 of last 6 years. Really disappointing and glad that my children now go to Vandora. Much better school for us

My daughter has attended Timber for K & 1st grade and I have been pleased overall by our experience with this school. I feel that her teachers have been very personal with her and that she is getting the one on one instruction when she needs it. There are several school-wide events and activities that take place throughout the year in addition to the ones within her own classes that are educational and informative which make it "fun" to be a part of Timber. My daughter views her teachers and classmates as a second family and loves going to school. The opportunities for parent involvement reach past just belonging to the PTA and I enjoy having the option to volunteer on a weekly basis with my daughter's classroom.

I volunteer three days a week at Timber Drive Elementary School. The past 2008-2009 school year was absolutely amazing. The Kindergarten and Fourth grades were the ones I assisted. I thought I was going to help the students and teachers a lot. What a surprise, these same people taught me more than I can explain. I am a Grandmother to students in both of these grades and can't imagine how teaching and lessons have changed and, oh, how much these children learn so early. I also volunteered in my daughters' school, private, while she was growing up. I could talk hours about the teacher/student relationships and the attention the student gets. All of their lessons are preplanned and presented to the students with such care and concern for their growth/education. These are not just teachers, but EDUCATORS! Life-long lessons....Thanks for being there!

I have had two children in Timber Drive over 8yrs , one that went all the way from K-5 and one that has gone from K-3. We have loved it. The principal runs a tight ship but it keeps the campus safe and the distractions to a minimum. Parent involvement and financial support has been consistently great over the time we have been there, with the PTA chipping in for great playground equipment, landscaping, picnic shelter, science cart, etc. Library is well-stocked. Carpool runs smoothly especially since they put in a traffic light. Dancefest every year lets the kids really show off for their parents in a great event each spring. They did get rid of Spanish a couple years ago but all other extras (art, PE, Music)have always had their own rooms. Garner/Wake is doing a lot of redistricting though and we were transferred for the next year. Great teachers.

Probably one of the best elementary schools in all of Wake County. New Campus, caring, dedicated faculty and staff, informed parents teaching their children how to make good choices. School promotes a positive attitude towards learning. Year-Round school, not easy to get in.

Two of my children are currently attending Timber. This is an excellent school. Teachers care here, the parent involvement is spectacular. In my five years with children at this school and the seven teachers that my children have gone through so far there is none better. Timber is the best!
