Before moving to the area 4 years ago we researched and visited many of the schools in the area. We were impressed with the leadership, staff and program at Westview (and it's secondary schools), leading us to buy a home in this district. Now, with 3 school years behind us (with 2 children enrolled), we are extremely happy with our decision. There is solid instruction by caring and vested teachers with many opportunities for growth- they work to meet your child at their level and help them excel. The principals are always available and are involved in the many programs going on in the school. Thank you Westview!
Apparently my child got the wrong first grade teacher. She was nice and all, but failed miserably at teaching my child handwriting. Now he has habits we're struggling to break. And of course, it's the parent's fault.
Great school with great staff! The teachers meet children at the child's level and challenge the advanced children. I love this school and my children attended this school since it opened.
An amazing school. I moved OUT Of wake to Garner to enroll my children in this school. I do not regret it for a minute. You could send your children to private school and West View will outpace them in a heartbeat. Fantastic school; Yes, they expect a lot from the kids but so what? It is up to us as parents to deal with a little 'stress' and help our children succeed. Bravo, West View!
We have been at West View since it opened in 2006 and have loved every year. I get to volunteer all the time and the teachers are great! Love the staff too. So friendly and warm. Go West View!
I have two kids enrolled at West View and they have been going to West View for 3 years now. It is a very good school with good teachers, but I believe they give way to much homework for elementary school kids. I believe they are trying to improve test scores by piling on the homework and teaching by giving repetitive work which in the end stresses kids and parents.
Wonderful facility, teachers and staff!!! PTA is very involved and does great things. Only complaint I have is it's hard to 'get in' unless you know the right people. Love that I can volunteer in my child's class!!
West View is a great school. My children have been going to this school since they opened. Really nice staff, very friendly, caring. I volunteer in my childrens classes and at the school and always feel welcome.
I have 3 children who have gone thru/ or are going thru west view. We have been lucky enough to get loving and supportive teachers . Mr Vertrano and Mrs Johnson go above and beyond to make sure your children are safe, healthy, and in a supportive learning enviroment! Mrs Refick is the best and any child who has her is very lucky!
Great school, great teachers, great support from the parents. My son enjoys going to school and is doing great. PTA is very involved and great at raising money, but can be a little 'cliqueish' to get into. I still plan on nosing my way in, but it seems new comers have a ways to go.
